Lovely breakfast place. Delicious scones, coffee and tea!
Popular spot with cozy vibes and solid coffee
French Press Coffee Roasters is clearly a local favorite—and after visiting, I can see why. The café has a warm, cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating, making it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends. Staff were friendly, and both food and drinks came out fairly quickly.
I had an iced latte, which was smooth and well-balanced. I also tried the shakshuka—my first time having it. While it was decent, I found it a bit underwhelming flavor-wise; for a tomato-based dish, I was expecting a bit more depth and seasoning. That said, it might just come down to personal preference or unfamiliarity with the dish.
Overall, it’s a great café to check out if you’re in the area—especially for coffee lovers. I’d definitely return to try more from their menu.
Great little coffee shop that I was able to drop in and enjoy a quick cup of coffee.
Coffee I had was bright and juicy, and I ended up purchasing two bags of coffee from them. Additionally, the brownie I ordered was also spectacular, though I could only pass on this critique as my sister refused to share the brownie.
Their service was also great, but I was only able to interact with them for the pourover. The barista brewing my coffee was very knowledgable and open to answering my questions.
The PB&J Vegan cookies are definitely going to call us back for another visit! It is located in a fun area and a really lively interior with lots of seating.
Great food with simple and quality ingredients. Coffee is also good. Much love for a great experience
Went yesterday for breakfast. Food came fast and was probably the best breakfast place I have ever tried. My girlfriend and I got the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast bowl and completely chowed down. The service was great and the vibe of the place was relaxing and we really enjoyed our first experience there, as we are from Victoria. First of many times to come!
High quality food and priced accordingly. Can be very busy during warmer months.
Great menu / coffee nicely finished setting / atmosphere.
What a pleasant surprise the French Press was. The best tomato soup and grilled vegetable sandwich I’ve had in years. We will be back again and again. The cappuccino wasn’t excellent as well.

Was in Parksville for thrifting and lunch, so happy to have found this gem. Had the perfect soup and sandwich combo, friend got soup and scone. Both were phenomenal. Coffee tastes amazing. Staff were lovely.

French Press Coffee Roasters is an absolute gem! The staff are so lovely, and I have to give a special shoutout to Myah (apologies if I spelled that wrong!) for always going above and beyond to make every visit special. The food is consistently delicious, and the quality is always outstanding. We bring all of our off-island visitors here, and they’re always just as impressed as we are. Whether it’s for a coffee or a meal, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend!

After walking around the village the night before, we came across the cafe I wanted to try the next morning.
We were pleased to see how busy it was because that usually means it's popular, which means it's good, right?
With a 15% tip (because it's Christmas, otherwise I rarely tip at a coffee shop), our 16 oz decaf mocha & drip coffee came to 11 ish dollars.
My mocha did not have a lot of 'mocha' to it, nor did it come with the whipped cream that was offered & my bf's drip was only ok. It was kind of acidic, he said.
I love supporting local businesses & I am the first one to want to try a local coffee shop. So I am fully prepared to pay more but for two large coffees that came to almost $12, I also expect much better quality.
There are at least 4 more coffee shops in the village that I will try before going back to French Press.
Found a spot to sit down where I can charge my stuff and wasn't rushed out the door.
Staff are super friendly and helpful.
Smooth jazz playing, nice lighting.
My breve was very good as well.
