Thai Smile Cuisine is everything you want in a local, family-owned restaurant — warm, welcoming, and absolutely unforgettable. From the moment you walk in, you're treated like family. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and comfortable, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy an amazing meal.
Now let’s talk about the food — 11/10 doesn’t even begin to cover it. Every dish is clearly made with love and care, packed with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. You can taste the passion in every bite. Whether you're a Thai food regular or trying it for the first time, this place will win you over.
It’s rare to find a restaurant that nails the vibe and the food so perfectly. Thai Smile Cuisine is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back!
WoW, fantastic service in a lovely setting, AND THE BEST Thai food on the Island!
We have been coming here from Comox Valley for a few years, it is always delish 💖!
Today was absolutely amazing ~ worth the drive, highly recommend!
Their garden is beautiful as well, such a delightful experience and the staff have the biggest smiles 😊 thank U Thai Smile Cuisine!
It's a really homey place with friendly owners and great food!! Highly recommend
Excellent food, friendly staff and great service.
The spice ain’t for the weak. Got the drunken noodles (spicy) and let me tell you this, idk when or how I started eating with two forks but I did, that’s how spicy this thang was, i swear I only saw one fork on my plate. The flavour was amazing, our server was really good. My spouse got the chicken tom yum (spicy) and it was amazing and flavourful!
definitely recommend and definitely will be back 10/10
*Closed December 2024 and January 2025.* Best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand and good prices.

I guess I'll have to wait until I go back to Thailand to eat Thai food because everything is so expensive!!
It was like eating art. Spice levels were perfect. Always the place to go when I am in the area.

It's a lovely family restaurant near Coombs. If you are heading to Port Alberni, this little restaurant is a good stop for lunch.
They offer lunch special too. We have early dinner. So we are the only customers on weekday.
The food is good and not oily. I like the veggie spring roll, satay, green curry and pineapple fried rice but the coconut is too sweet.

The name “Thai Smile” must be for a joke
We called in to the front area where a bunch of people were waiting - the place was busy and that’s great
The owner walked out and spoke to the people before us who were all waiting for takeaway orders.
She then looked at us and said “ And you? What do you want?”
We said “a table for two if you have?”
To which she laughed and said “Do you have a reservation?”
We said no, and then asked how long the wait would be
To which she replied in a rude voice in front of everyone
“Oh well I don’t know, everyone has just started eating”
And then preceded to finish the conversation there, ignore us, and start sorting out the takeaway orders.
Awful service from the get go and made us go elsewhere, which is sad because I was ready to spend an easy $100 stuffing my face with Thai food. Do better.
