We are at the beginning of a cruise vacation. Spending two days in Richmond/Vancouver, BC before setting sail on the NCL Jade bound for Alaska and the Pacific Coast (BC, Washington, Oregon, and California). We tried CAVU Kitchen and Bar for HH and dinner. The restaurant had a 50% off wine bottle special for HH. We went for it and combined it with dinner. Our server Shanu was on my point. She was handling the bar and tables by herself. She was attentive and provided excellent service. We had the Nachs for an appetizer. Hand cut chips, house made salsa, cheese mix, house spice, avocado, tomatoes, and jalapenos, so fulfilling! Next up were the Grilled Miso Salmon and the Big Salad featuring Tofu. Both were excellently prepare with the Salmon being flaky and moist. The Salmon was presented with edamame, "forbidden" rice, carrot and miso puree, pickle and crispy ginger, and water crisp. The Salmon had a perfect char. The Big Salad included cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, avocado, red onions, hard boiled egg, olives, romaine lettuce, cranberries, feta cheese, and herb ranch dressing. We washed it all down with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc at half price a HH special and a glass of old fashioned featuring Jim Beam. Amazingly another patron picked up the tab on the wine bottle, bless him! We must pass that forward. I didn't know what to expect from this hotel spot but was pleasantly surprised with the quality and presentation. We give them 4.5 for the food, the execution, and presentation. The wife went for the Toffee Pudding dessert which I understand was great.
Food was ok. Service and atmosphere were good.

Buffet as well as menu options. One of the few hotel restaurants that has French Toast as an option. Breakfast is covered for Diamond members.

The food itself was great. I ordered a coke with my meal and they charged by the can I assume. Absolutely ridiculous. Service was sloppy. Seemed like they were maybe hotel workers being attached to the Hilton. The place has potential but needs real wait staff and fair prices.
One night stay. Had cocktails and dinner here. Jatin and staff were hospitable and welcoming! The lentil burger was super yummy. Spring roll appetizer was typical and just so-so. Reasonable prices.
There was live music later on. Very loud and then the guy was whistling while playing the guitar! Way too much noise for the small space. Plus I never appreciate an artist who ask for tips at an end of a set and then mentions feeding his family! Just bad etiquette.
The service people are nice but service standard is lacking. There were long waits to be seated in a pretty empty restaurant, wait staff were buzzing about but didn’t seem to be doing anything. The food is just ok, I had a happy hour promotion which featured a smash burger and a side for $22 BOGO. The burger was well flavored but the single patty was really smashed thin, very thin. I would recommend the IPA, great flavor and fragrance.
Great team here tonight - thank you guys!
I come to vancouver for business quite a bit always stay at Hilton and eat at CAVU service and food are great! Niafa is always there to help with whatever is needed
The food and atmosphere at the place is excellent but that is not what makes it a 5 star. The 5 star is attributed to the service, Steve in particular. Steve makes you feel like you are in your local pub without it being overwhelming. He is kind, attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming. Truly, one of our best parts about visiting Richmond. Well done, Steve and thank you.
Went as a table of 2 for Easter brunch. No where was it disclosed that there would be an automatic gratuity of 18% added onto the bill. I don’t mind paying an automatic gratuity within reason however it should be disclosed AND for 18%, the service should remain high. We had to wave someone over to take a drink order and also for water refills every time. No one quality checked our meals either. I emailed Cavu to provide feedback and it’s very disappointing to have not had a reply acknowledging the feedback. Will not return.

Ninfa offered me an amazing service, super friendly, thank you!!
CAVU pizza 🍕 ✨️👍🏼
Portions on some items are sparse. Expect to pay premium prices for what the typical pub food items. There are better options with a lower price tag in the area. Quality of food seems solid.
Good breakfast to start a great day in Vancouver. Our server Ninfa was attentive kind and balanced professionalism with kindness.
Pretty good food but nothing outstanding unfortunately. Asked for medium rare for my steak but received medium but other than that, everything went well. It does suck that my steak wasn’t cooked to the temperature I wanted and since it was the most expensive item on the list of food, it ruined the experience for me. I wanted to return it but didn’t want to cause any grief.
