I’ve been here a few times over the years, usually when Chuan Siang (Potelicious), which is just down the food court, is closed or on vacay. It’s not even in the same league but it’s still good. The noodles were a little over done, though other times they’ve been good, and the broth is on the sweeter side which may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Chef Liu Kitchen in the Richmond Public Market (hence the 3 stars for mall atmosphere) is a GREAT destination for authentic Taiwanese food.
I usually get #15 which is their minced pork on rice and you get to choose any 3 side servings from their hot food selection; I vary between their green beans, tomato egg, mahpo tofu, soya egg.
As an extra, you could add their chicken fillet (#29) and that is a wonderful meal. Their chicken fillet is probably the best, IMHO, within the market - I’ve tried everyone else’s. While everyone else also makes a decent fried chicken fillet, here the fillet is tender and still juicy inside.
The shop owners are nice, humble people and patient with me when I can’t make up my mind. When it’s not crazy busy, which frankly isn’t common, the friendly people behind the counter have, at times, given me a small taste of other foods they sell to see if I might like their other dishes - YMMV.
Parking: Go all the way to the roof, no one parks there. Some tight corners so try to keep to your side of the lane. When situation permits let others complete their turn before starting yours.

I ordered Kung Pao Chicken Rice and it turned out to be cucumber chicken. There was very little chicken and a strong cucumber flavor... I asked who could guess what kind of dish this was after seeing the photo!
The shredded bamboo shoots as a side dish were very dry and tasteless and even tasted sweet. If you fail, it doesn’t taste like Taiwan at all, so don’t step on it!
Bought 2 sets of salted crispy chicken. The side dishes were a bit salty, the salted crispy chicken noodles were thick and dry, and I felt the taste had changed. This time I didn’t see the proprietress greeting the guests at the front desk. Did she agree to change the boss?
It tastes terrible!
It doesn't taste like Taiwanese beef noodles at all. I heard that the boss has changed, so I'm not surprised. The soup doesn't taste fresh because it must have been cooked for more than 5 days.

I have eaten authentic Taiwanese beef noodles at Master Niu many times. The beef tastes much better than the ones in the same place. For example, the owner saw my comment and wanted the soup to be hotter. Every time I eat it, it is slightly hot. If the soup If it's hotter, it could be 5 stars. I really hope the shop owner sees it.
Their beef noodle soup was authentic and really tasty. The broth is made up with rich beef flavour and the beef was really tender and as a Taiwanese this beef noodle soup might be better than most places in Taiwan. I would obviously come back here soon!

After making multiple rounds in the food court trying to decide on what to eat, we finally picked Chef Liu Kitchen. All of the other stalls were serving generic pre-made Chinese food (i.e. fried rice, noodles, general Tso's chicken) but the spicy intestines here caught my eye. I ordered the combo for $17, and it was a lot of food. You get a bowl of the spicy intestines, rice, and three sides. The "sides" were already like an entire meal by itself! I picked tofu (they gave two huge chunks), tomato egg, and black bean string beans stir-fried with ground beef (?). This wasn't anything super special, but it was really comforting, especially having just gotten off a long flight. The spicy intestines had intestines, tofu, and pig blood, and there is a generous amount in there. I didn't know that it would be mala spicy, which I don't like because of the flavor and the tongue-numbing sensation - but this one wasn't too spicy. It was tolerable. Still, I would have preferred a different flavor.
If I lived in the area, I wouldn't mind just getting the rice and some of their sides. Makes for a simple yet delicious meal.
Great portion for beef noodle. The soup was just a bit too sweet for my liking.

i think their prices have gone up quite a bit in the past year! we used to get the taiwanese beef noodle often but not so much now..
i think sometimes portion sizes for the sides can be hit or miss depending on who is serving you?
i do like their taiwanese fried chicken nuggets though! i primarily get theirs when i have a craving for them!
solid food choice in public market though!
