Went here with a group of friends (8 ppl) they split us up on two separate tabes that weren't near each other and still charged us a crazy 18% group gratuity.
Would've tipped but service was not worth 18% extra.

Most disappointing meal in a long time.
We got suggested to do the Chef's set menu at this restaurant. $60 / person, 4 people requirement, the chef would select all the dishes. So our family of 6 decided to try it out as it seemed like it would be good. 4 of us would get the Chef's set menu and the other 2 ordered their steak rib eye special
For $60 Chef menu, we expected some decent food. Boy were we wrong. The food was lacklustre and the decisions around the choices of food were questionable.
Appetizers were shucked oysters and abalone, and a salad. For a seating of 4 people, there were 3 abalones and 6 oysters, meaning each person would have 3/4 of an abalone and 1 & 1/2 oysters? The salad wasnt any better... mixed greens with some vinagerette and some watermelon on top.
Mains were crabs and steak with roasted potatoes. The crabs tasted good however there were no tools to eat the crab legs with. The process was painful so we decided to take home half the crab legs. The steak was worse... dry and tough.
Dessert was interesting... grass jelly with watermelon and ice cream. Not the worst but def a weird combination of flavors.
The two that had the rib eye steaks were not any better. The steaks were all dry and tough.
Would 100% NOT recommend. Biggest waste of $$.
Favourite part of the meal was the beer on tap.

A gem tucked inside Steveston village. I ordered the $21 rib eye steak and a lavender lemonade. The lemonade was very fragrant and refreshing. Will be coming back for their brunch menu.

Jaiden deserves a raise, a trophy, and maybe a parade. She refilled my dehydrated friend’s water like 47 times without even flinching. Not once did she look annoyed—an actual angel in human form. If patience was an Olympic sport, Jaiden’s taking gold. Incredible service and 10/10 vibes. We stan.

Chef’s Playground is definitely in the running for “Best Burgers”. The truffle burger is to die for. The rest are yummy too. That one is my favourite though. And the onion rings are next level!!! Just get there before they sell out! If you’re more of a breakfast person, their breakfast offerings are amazing too. The Chef takes pride in his work and it shows. Highly recommend!

I walked by and noticed this restaurant was quite popular, so I decided to give it a try. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff treat every customer with great care and attention. Every dish I tried was absolutely delicious. You can really tell this place is run with heart and dedication. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

I have been here twice — the first picture is the most recent and I had the same thing as last time, the avocado and mushroom benny sans the mushroom. Maybe it was a one off this time because the brioche bun underneath my egg wasn’t toasted and it was still frozen…. it was not like that last time. I am hoping it is a one off because I remember the last time the food was delicious. My partner really enjoyed his meal though!

I went there with hign expectation looking forward for an afternoon tea based on a suggestion from my friend after joined the Canada Day celebration at Stevenson. I arrived slightly earlier than 2:30pm but being kicked out by a witness saying that the Restaurant would be closed after 3:00pm. We were so disappointed on Canada Day!

A cute little restaurant with one chef. Book reservations or you won’t be able to get a spot!

Some of the freshest oysters we've ever had! The burgers are honestly some of the best we've had with a perfect sear, crispness around the edges and a juicy middle - all ground and made in-house. Definitely worth the drive to Steveston 🤤

Had a good experience here today for brunch. The food was good. Homemade ketchup, citrus salad dressing and homemade jam all made the brunch so worth it. The chicken and waffles were also such a filling brunch. Would come back to this place for sure.
