Excellent food, dont even care about anything else. Every food has unique and really good taste. We go there all the time. Very affordable with good portion and taste.
The server is irritable when a customer ask a question regarding food in menus. Their Chinese smoke pork is faked with Canadian or American bacon. Dumplings are below average. The cold noodles and hit fish pot are fairly good.
For the food, I would come here again. But I want to complain about one thing - the portion should be more.
Chengdu Spicy Restaurant in Vancouver is one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food is poorly cooked, the ingredients are far from fresh, and the flavors are completely off. On top of that, the service is atrocious—staff are rude, inattentive, and only seem interested in chasing you down for tips. The audacity to demand gratuity when they can’t even provide basic hospitality is beyond ridiculous. This place is a disaster from start to finish—avoid it at all costs!
Substandard food, rude hostess and owner. Hefty prices for really cheap tasting food. Empty restaurant where service has to be begged for as they ignore you.
Stopped by for a little snack while waiting to get seated at Matsuyama and they did not disappoint! Got a few skewers, spicy clams, and a Tsingtao. The broth and spices were so good, definitely itching to go back again.
Unfortunately they refuse to take reservations for 2 persons, they only do it for bigger parties. So I guess couples are no business for them ??♂️.
The food is salty, service is even awful. Terrible restaurant. Run away from there??

Terrible service. Picked up an ubereats order for myself and owner was extremely rude, and short with me, telling me to hurry up and tell her my order number. Not coming back.

Me and my husband’s all time favorite restaurant in Vancouver. My hubby from Chengdu and he approved the dishes are very authentic. Nowadays food court is quite expensive and dining here becomes much better choice. The servants are nice aunties not super great western style services but definitely warm and kind enough. It’s like our grannies home (small, clean, cozy and tidy) we visit there every week. Fresh meats and vegetables and large portion. Usually we go there order two dishes and two rice. And often there is left over we could take home and total only around $40. Almost every dish is super tasty. We specially enjoys 水煮肉片,火爆腰花 ,小炒肉,钵钵口水鸡. Highly recommend for someone who enjoys Spicy Chinese dishes. This is one of the best!!!

I recently ordered from this restaurant through Uber eats. There was a dish of stir-fried meat with lettuce. It smelled like fish and was too fishy to be eaten. I don’t know if fish sauce was added or if the fish was cooked without washing the pot. I remember the food at this restaurant was delicious a few years ago, but I don’t know what’s wrong now.

Treating friends with the dishes from the Chengdu restaurant is great. Double praise for the cold noodles!

If you like mouth watering, numbing Sichuan flavours. This is a place to try. So much good selection that it warrants another visit.
