八佰伴包子掌门 Chinese Baozi Master inside Yaohan Centre Food Court is only stall that accepted debit and not just cash. They are open early for Richmond standards from 9AM everyday.
Always has line ups, maybe due to alluring showcase being able to watch staff making simple authentic steamed stuffed buns and dumplings made fresh to order with a need to wait. Each piping hot, steam escaping as you rip it open -an essential breakfast staple in Northern China.
Note: the Chinese style bbq pork was not sweet and fatty with a nice char, but juicy and soft like a meat loaf, not the Cantonese style, but had a brian farther when ordering forgit it was Northern cuisine.
For the price and food court quality the dumplings were good, buns were a bit mushy inside, but the pan fried buns was delicious.

⚠️ Be Aware of the Terrible Customer
Care ⚠️
If they make a mistake with your order, be prepared to just accept whatever they give you — otherwise, you’ll end up wasting your time arguing or being ignored by the unhelpful staff.
I ordered a $12.99 beef noodle soup, but they gave me an $8.99 plain noodle soup instead. When I pointed out the mistake, they told me I had to pay an extra $6 if I wanted to add beef to my bowl of soggy noodles. 😩
My hungry 9-year-old son even started eating the noodles while standing beside me at the counter as I tried to explain the issue to the staff.
After this experience, I don’t plan to visit this place again.

It's food court buns and dumplings. Good if you're hungry, but don't expect too much.
There's a 5% surcharge for credit, so bring cash for the best price.
The dumplings were good, but the buns were a bit mushy inside and I wasn't impressed with the flavour of the meat. The Pan fried pork buns tasted better than the Pickled cabbage pork steamed bun.

Their pork and shrimp dumplings were good! Although, I found their bao buns a little too salty.

A great place to eat, with good selection. The Baozi are excellent and it's fun watching them get made - very hard work all day long! I tried the pig intestine soup as well, I imagine that's as good as that dish can possibly get. Only for the adventurous.

Got some frozen meat buns few times. They are very inconsistent. Sometimes they are one of the best tasting, other times they taste like garbage.
But maybe it's just like that for frozen buns. Either way, I am not going to buy frozen buns from them anymore.

waited a long line, but turns out of order
Beef was still raw inside. I told the store employee and they argued the meat is cooked and this is normal. Horrible customer service. Don’t come here unless you want to eat raw meat.
