Had a late dinner of Pork bone soup, it was very good and my wife had the dumpling soup which was also excellent. Service was fast and friendly. We were offered extra kimchi and other garnish for our food a couple of times. The kimchi was excellent! There is the Korean BBQ option if you have the time to cook your own meal.

I really like their food selection. Portion sizes were larger than I expected. Oxtail soup was great and seafood fried rice was good.

Hands-down, the most unwelcome I’ve felt any establishment on earth. Won’t be back.

5 of us ordered 1 bento box, 3 person bbq combo, and stone bibimbop without drinks totally about $200 Canadian. The bulgolgi was everyone’s favorite. It was juicy, tender and the sauce was delicious. The bibimbop was good but not amazing. The seafood tofu soup was flavorful and the bento box was almost okay. The banchan was subpar compared to other Korean restaurants in the area. The food came to the table very fast which was great but service was rushed. It felt like the server was in such a hurry that she didn’t have time to be friendly or safe. At one point she came to change the grill pan and left a piece of raw meat dangling and dripping juice over our dishes which was pretty unsanitary.

Jjambbong is always my go to at this place Other recommendations personally include the steamed Korean dumplings (huge portion) and Gal bi Tang. Generally foods are all very delicious here and well authentically made.
Try lunch menu for a starter and of course bbq is amazing.
Update: try the Nak-Ji ddol sot bop (octopus hot stone rice dish) I am really giving 5+ review for this. Too good!
Jjam bbong noodle is a must. Best in class!

It was my second time visiting and got served by excellent staff. We had a long hangout that night like two hours while mo one was trying to kick us out. Also we were asked for nearly 10 times if we need more side dishes (for free), honestly their side dishes are also delicious and big. But almost 3-4 staff kept asking with their kindness which we felt so bad sitting that long and consuming so many side dishes.
Thank you for giving us a cozy space and ‘full’ night, the beef soup was amazing!

I had a great lunch here at Dai Jang Kum on a lazy day off. My brother usually frequents here for lunch. He told me the lunch special boxes are pretty decent. So why not, I gave it a shot.
First off the service was a bit slow to start but everything eventually caught up and we were even asked if we needed anything extra or refills and napkins. The gentleman who was bringing our food must had been really busy. We asked for the Korean side dishes, sweet potato, kimchi, seaweed, and sprouts. He said it's not included...
It wasn't until another server came and said he's wrong it is included for free…
Our miso soups came along with it which is free. Alot of miscommunication.
Our Korean boxes came and there's a good variety. The short ribs could've been darker and richer in marinade sauce and cooked longer. Food is good but nothing special for lunch. Perhaps dinner would be better. I would love to come back for dinner.
Plenty of parking all around if you’re worried about door dents. Affordable dining experience. Good food. It can get crazy busy here with a small serving staff.

Restaurantji Recommends
Standard Korean restaurant located in East Richmond, just a block away from Costco Warehouse Richmond. They have family style meal and sets, good for korean bbq and their prices are fair but don’t expect high quality of food. I usually just order from their lunch menu or some of the soup noodles like Galbitang, or soodubu jjigae.
My most recent experience here was not that great as the boss lady (I assume she was) had told our table of 12 people to change table after the kids and adults have settled down for 10 minutes, the reason was “If you are not doing BBQ, you will need to change table; this table is for BBQ only”. This is our first time getting asked to change table AFTER we had settled down and poured water for ourselves, they could have asked our group before they seat us.
The only thing I will probably praise about is their large variety on their menu and their ability to accommodate a large group of customers on a weekend when it is difficult to find a place to eat nowadays.

Hidden gem! Great food and friendly, efficient service. We ordered bibimbaps and it came with a lot of side dishes that we loved. I wish bibimbaps had a little more meat but overall it was totally worth it. Recommend 💯

The food tasted pretty good.
The service was friendly and nice.
The seasoning tasted a bit too much, but it was better than nothing.
The lighting was a bit dark and there were a lot of flies, which was disappointing.
