Double Double Restaurant

Had dinner with my family at Double Double Restaurant, and it truly felt like enjoying comforting home-style dishes. Every plate came out hot with real wok hei, which is something you don’t always find in Vancouver.

We ordered several classic Cantonese dishes — curry beef brisket, soy sauce chicken, steamed fish with black beans, sautéed fish fillet with broccoli, and deep-fried fish skin. Everything was flavourful and well-prepared, especially the curry beef brisket which was tender and rich.

This restaurant delivers exactly what you expect from a good family-style Cantonese eatery. Tasty dishes, generous portions, and very friendly vibes. Definitely a place we would return to.

They recommended lobster noodles, crab noodles, and fish dishes even though we didn’t ask for any recommendations. We said we would order by ourselves, but the congee and 油条that came were only lukewarm. The service quality of the staff also needs improvement.

I go for the food not the customer service; and can confidently say; would definitely not recommend, salty, nor properly cooked, many different places to choose from with same food better quality.

This is an updated review in Oct, 2025: the food is still very decent in this eatery. The congees, noodles are all quite well made and well priced. Service has improved in the past year, we have returned to be regular customers again!

In all fairness; the food is quite good here; service is however BELOW sub standard. We got up and left several weeks ago after waiting for close to an hour for our meal. Since Covid; majority of their focus is on take outs; you may have a better chance of getting your food via take out.

Food been consistently superb over the many years I been coming to this place… many places be good for breakfast but not dinner… this will serve all meal periods and with the appropriate dishes with no drop in quality.

Very busy @ lunch of course.. don't even bother trying to park.. go over to Superstore parking lot and walk 4 minutes.

The waitress very rude and waited 40 minutes for our food .

Went for dinner the night of mid autumn festival. There was a wait but we were seated quite quickly maybe 5 mins. We just wanted a quick dinner so only ordered a fried noodle, fried rice and soup noodle. The server warned us that the fried noodle and fried rice will take about half hour because of how busy it was. We got the soup noodle within 15 mins but the fried rice and noodle took just over an hour. The restaurant was full but how does anything at a Chinese restaurant take an hour.

I'm beginning to think all the servers in the restaurant are mute. No one said thank you after us paying the bills and tipping. Food service was slow. Asked them a question and they didn't even acknowledge we were there. There are plenty of good restaurants in Richmond. I would steer away from this one.

Food and service is average but I’m still scared ever since an average Richmond driver rammed their car into the restaurant

Don’t skip out on trying this place! The flavours are amazing, service is great and the pricing is affordable. Love coming here with my family.
