Not delicious, very disappointing on dimsum, we have all the dimsum like shrimp dumplings, beef ball,sigma etc...non of them are good. I will not go next time.

I traveled from California to Vancouver to see how local Cantonese food was, but was disappointed. I did some research and found that this shop in Richmond should be regarded as one of the best morning tea shops, but unfortunately it didn't reach the expected level. In terms of texture, all kinds of dim sum are actually well made. Unfortunately, in terms of taste, they can be said to be tasteless. This is also a common problem with the Cantonese food I eat in the Vancouver area. The taste is really too bland to leave an impression. Later, some I dare not eat Cantonese food for days, for fear that my body will not be able to bear it if I eat too little salt. It can only be said that in Southern California, this level is not competitive in Orange County, let alone Los Angeles, where there are many experts in Cantonese cuisine.
P.S. The most delicious is the sweet-scented osmanthus cake because it is sweet.

Enjoyed a big Thanksgiving dim sum meal with 22 family and friends. Ordered all the usuals and they were great as always. Staff are very attentive and quick. Service was quick. My favourite dim sum in Richmond.

I still remember it clearly; it was on March 6, 2024. The waiter had only brought me one bowl of rice, which wasn’t enough. I requested an additional one, but he was too busy to bring it. After waiting too long, I asked another waiter for the rice, even saying, “Where is the rice? Should I get it myself?” The second waiter eventually handed me another bowl.

Later, when I went to pay the bill, the first waiter showed that I had eaten three bowls of rice. I said, “Oh, you made a mistake, I only ate two bowls of rice.” He then changed the bill to two but returned, insisting, “Actually, you’re mistaken - you ate three!”

What the hell???? Why??? Why would I lie about $2??????

I was angered by his attitude and refused to pay the bill, demanding that they show me the CCTV footage, or I wouldn’t pay a cent.

He told his coworker and the manager, who simply said it was a minor issue and that there were no cameras at the table. The manager wasn’t sure how many bowls I ate but kept repeating that it wasn’t a big deal, eventually letting it go.

Throughout this whole process, no one apologized. Their attitude was extremely arrogant, as if I really had eaten three bowls of rice and was just trying to cheat them out of paying for one! It was incredibly disrespectful! I’m not a beggar!???

I paid the bill, but left no tip.?

It wasn’t about the $2 rice - it was about dignity. I told them there was no reason to lie over $2. The waiter deserved the outcome.

Never going back again!?

I met Internet celebrity Sarah Zhuxian and his wife, whom I hadn’t seen for a long time, and arranged to have dinner at Diaoyutai Seafood Restaurant in Richmond.

A group of 4 ordered 5 dishes plus the old fire soup of the day:
*Cold shredded chicken
*Fresh mushrooms and stir-fried seasonal vegetables
*Pumpkin Braised Pork Ribs
*Fried chicken with cashew nuts
*Beef slices with smooth egg

Maybe we didn't understand the quantity of each dish. The senior waiter who took the order said in Cantonese: "That's enough, that's enough~" and left in a hurry.

Sure enough, it was only after the food was served that I understood the waiter's worried tone: each dish is enough to feed 6 to 8 people. Every dish tasted good, but the restaurant was crowded and noisy, and we chatted loudly at the top of our voices. Although everyone tried their best to make extra meals, we ended up packing a box of leftovers to take home.

First time came for dim sum here, food is ok a little bland, the waiter was just doing his job, no smile. Two of us ate $50.45, I gave him $60 cash, he didn’t give me back the change until I asked him about the change after about 10 mins wait (restaurant was not busy at all like only 10 tables at that time). That’s rude that he assumed he could keep the change without my permission. Won’t be back!

Service was average. We ordered a dish of half chicken and the waiter 'educated' us that we should order whole chicken next time instead of the half, because half chicken would not come out very good. Not sure what he was about, the dish came out fine.

Also the shark fin soup came with very little shark fin and no crab meat. What a rip off.

Extremely bad service and terrible food
The staff would scold at the customers. I know Vancouver is just a small town and I didn’t expect much but it’s such an awful experience to dine in there. It’s totally a nightmare
