i've been coming to this bakery for years and it never disappoints! the staff are always welcoming, it's been newly renovated, and the bread is delicious. they have filipino and jewish bread, and my favourites are the pandesal and jelly donuts. their eggbread is also very soft :)
Dietary restrictions: because it's kosher, it is good for lactose intolerant people
Parking: it's located in at garden city shopping centre, where there is plenty of parking
Kid-friendliness: lots of sweet treats for the little ones to enjoy

The breads and baked goods here are so good, it doesn't matter if you keep kosher or not. The cinnamon buns are my personal favorite!

Really bad. I shocked when I bite donut. The worst bakery ever.
Discovering this unique Filipino-Jewish bakery in Richmond, Vancouver was an absolute delight! Specializing in breads, they have successfully combined the flavors and techniques from both cultures. The aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air as you step inside, instantly tempting your taste buds. The bread selection is outstanding, with a harmonious blend of Filipino and Jewish flavors that create an unforgettable experience. From pandesal to challah, each loaf is crafted with care and expertise. If you're a bread lover seeking something truly distinctive, this bakery is a must-visit!
Friendly staff. Great bakery.
They make best challah intown
They definitely became worse over past years.
Very disappointed! Bought 12 jelly doughnuts yesterday for Hanukkah - no jelly inside the doughnut in any of them. Just 1 dab outside the hole where the jelly is to be inserted. I have photos as proof. And doughnuts are dry. Unacceptable
*Small Family Bakery*Our family moved to this neighbourhood years ago and this bakery has always been here at the local mall.No non-sense, fresh, homemade breads, croissants, muffins, jam donuts, Challah and much more!!We usually come here for their Raspberry Jam Donuts and Cinnamon Rolls .. believe me they don't last long in our kitchen!!Great to have a family own and operated small bakery in our neighbourhood!!
For a city that has such a large Jewish community it should have an authentic quality bakery. Sad to say, it still doesn't. I think they should consider selling the bakery to a Jewish baker who knows what he's doing.

All of their stuff has gone downhill.1. Challah-dry and not as flavourful as it was before.2. Sugar cookies- bland, stale, only a few sprinkles (like come on).3. Sesame bread- no taste.4. The store’s atmosphere is reminiscent of the Soviet Union right before its collapse. Sparsely populated shelves, poor presentation, seemingly stale products. This honestly wouldn’t bother me as much if the product was good. But it’s not.I grew up on Garden City Bakery. The place had the best stuff. I’ve gone 3 more times after the first disappointment to see if it was just an off day. It’s not an off day. Their product is bad. The taste and the texture of all my childhood favourites are not the same, and they are not good. I’ve discussed with many others who’ve frequented the bakery, they’ve all said the quality is now horrible.Apparently they have new owners... Garden City Bakery is now just a memory. The Bakery that I knew does not exist anymore. May its memory be a blessing.
Staff on the morning i went in was so nice, he was able to confirm no walnuts or pecans in the cinnamon bun/rolls i picked up which for someone who has horrible allergies and carries an epi pen its an important answer, the buns where so good. If i lived closer i would probably be in all the time lol.Thank you!
Those receptionists are just very rude. Bakers don't know how to bake real pitas. Really disappointed. Also please be ethical , using Roger's sugar in pitas, doesn't make pita VEGAN, As you preach. Do your research well and stop using " vegan" labels on pitas when it's NOT vegan. I made a clear suggestions and hope you follow thexrule and regulations properly .
The racks were empty! Why even open to the public?
Dairy free and tasty breads.
