I am absolutely appalled by the ridiculous policy at this restaurant. We were waiting to be seated and decided to go outside to grab some boba tea. Not once did they inform us that they don’t allow any outside drinks. When we came back, they told us we couldn’t bring our drinks in and insisted we finish them outside before dining. This is completely unreasonable and should have been communicated in advance. It’s insane to expect customers to abide by a rule they don’t even warn you about! Extremely disappointed—definitely won’t be coming back.

The waiter has a cold attitude. Not only is he slow to serve the food, but he doesn't even pay attention to basic needs. When the entire restaurant was empty, five people had to squeeze into a small square table for four people. When I asked for a table for two, he told me, ah, If we sell it separately, it can cost at least 400 per night. Can you spend 400? No, where can any waiter talk like that? What a shame for such a good restaurant If you don’t like to make yourself miserable, you can avoid lightning.

Just had the worst experience there ever, we have a party of 5, all pretty big guys, they insist to squeeze us into a tiny 4 ppl table , when the restaurant is literally empty and has multiple large table avaliable. When I request to put a two small table together they said it is only avaliable for party more than 6 and I have to spend more than 400 dollar. Like they expect everyone to just order 70 dollars worth of food? Total madness

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Geng Shi Ji, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor strikes a perfect balance between cozy and chic, making it an ideal spot for both casual outings and special occasions.
Now, let’s talk about the food. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious! The flavors were vibrant and well-balanced, showcasing a true passion for culinary excellence. I particularly enjoyed "Braised beef Brisket " and "steamed pork with mixed nuts", which was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Each bite was a delightful experience!
The service at Geng Shi ji was equally impressive. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and their recommendations were spot-on. It’s clear that the staff is well-trained and genuinely cares about providing a great dining experience.
The location is another significant advantage—it's easily accessible and perfect for a quick meal or a leisurely dinner.
Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

NEARLY A FIRE INCIDENT!!! Oh my god, a fire broke out while eating and I was almost disfigured.
The waiter made a serious mistake. When he lit the gas stove, it took at least thirty seconds for the gas to come out. It was so heavy that the entire eight-person long table could smell the gas before starting the fire.
Half the table was on fire!
The friend who was sitting closest was not even 10cm away from the gas tank. He was still eating with his head down. If he didn't smell the gas and felt dangerous and raised his head, his whole face and hair would have been burned! After the fire started, all the paper on the table was burning. I couldn't believe how serious the fire accident would have been if the girl didn't raise her head. Her entire face and hands would have been burned.
After this, and everyone in the audience saw it, their store sent a waiter to give us a dessert, without even saying sorry, let alone the person who caused the accident. We refused the dessert and they gave us a 10% discount, saying that this was the greatest sincerity. All of us were very angry, and the girl who was almost disfigured was very angry. They originally wanted to settle the matter and emphasized that 10% off was a great discount for them, but when they saw that we were still very angry, they reluctantly gave us a 50% discount. Fuck, I really can’t believe it.

Food is tasty but way too OILY. Ordered the signature hot pot chicken, clams and pork intestine. All three dishes had lots of oil at the bottom. Towards the end, I had to put food on napkins to soak up the oil before I put it in my mouth. The napkin looked like this attached photo!
