In the past three years, I ate at least once a week. There was a 10% discount on take out. Half the time, I would treat take out as a dining in to escape the 10% off. I’m too lazy to say it.

The food was very fresh and tasty, the broth tasted a bit like peanut butter, i wish they would have told me before, i don’t have allergies but is courtesy. It looks rustic and simple and prices are ok to be richmond

No one ever answers the phone

we arrive the place 19:00.
Choose and pay for the food at 19:20
Didn’t get any thing until 19:50, so we have to ask to pack the food in the container to go.
Finally we got our “take out” at 20:00.

Also we missing the Chinese Donut in our order.

Disappoint.

Came here for the first time and wasn't impressed. Not many options to select from in all aspects... Broth, sauces, fresh items, noodles, drinks, etc. And the extra spicy option was not spicy at all.

I did like the balls selection though, free coke, and the fact that there were no wait time when I went.

Expect no service here, it's more of a eat and leave kind of place. No friendly greetings, no smile. Which would be okay if the food was worth it.

Not much service, pretty much self serve dining experience.

Malatang is absolutely amazing, not too spicy, ingredients are fresh. A nice place to have some comfort food.

I feel like they have gotten even better with the quality of the ingredients, the start of rewards points for their location, and free coke / person.

The only downside is that because they only got 5-6 tables at a time, you may have to wait for quite some time when you hit the rush hour. You should only come here with a group of 4 or less.

Great choice of fresh vegetables & meat of your choice, with flavorful broth with the option of chili oil, peanut sauce, garlic, and additional fee for a bowl of rice. Even just having the malatang without the rice is already quite filling.

Be careful how much you put in the bowl, as it can get quite expensive when you are putting stuff in without realizing how much you got.

As there arent too many tables, strongly recommend this place on a rainy, chilli day with a group of 4 people or less!

Many nearby restaurants all had a long wait, so we decided to give this one a try. Unfortunately did not meet expectations. The staff seemed overwhelmed with the number of orders though they were very nice and even apologized. We probably waited around a total of 30 minutes.
The disappointing part was the food. We have been to other similar style places but the broth here was so underwhelming. They add sesame and garlic but there is really no taste or umami otherwise.

I absolutely love the design of the tableware; it effectively keeps the food warm throughout the dining experience. The flavor of the soup base is delightful, and they even provided a complimentary Coke for diners. I will definitely be returning!

The spiciness is on the mild side, I like spicy food. The mutton rolls are cooked very fragrantly, and there is free Coke. This is a Malatang restaurant that I will eat frequently!
