Came here a couple of times but first time posting a review for this HK style cafe. Haven't been here for a while and looks like the updated their food stall. It's decent for Lansdowne Mall but there are better ones elsewhere.

The food is hit or miss but this time it was not bad. The Singaporean Fried Rice Vermicelli had enough curry powder that didn't overpower the dish. Also it had great wok hei. Wife ordered a combo meal which was pretty decent for the price. Will come here again.

Well... if you want hk style food, its very cheap. probably one of the cheaper options in the city. I got the beef brisket rice noodles.. it was pretty underwhelming. little flavor, soup was bland.. the noodle texture was good though. so why 3 stars? The milk tea was good. it was fragrant, not too overly steeped, and just the right amount of milk - and one bag of sugar is enough to get it sweet.. usually I need 1.5 bags!

I really appreciate that they offer a vegetable base as an option, which is great for people who don’t want to eat rice. They also serve the sauce on the side, so I can control the amount myself.

Quality of food and the drinks have suffered since the last time I ate here. You can tell from the food traffic at the peak times (ie: lunch times). Ordered a cold coffee-milk tea along with a satay thin rice noodles. Presentation was good and they separated the soup and the noodles for take-out. However I used to go there for the taste, which is sorely lacking now. The drink tasted like water and the noodles tasted bland with no flavour. Sorry, Grill King you are no longer my go to food stall at Lansdowne. For the price-value proposition you guys rank at the bottom now.

Difficult to judge. Their Mix & Match 2 or 3 grill is excellent, and their Black Pepper Sauce is top notch (Best Traditional in town along with ICafe). *And* the most budget friendly in town!
5 stars.

But the Gohn Chau Ngao Hoa (Pan fried beef wide noodle) was an inedible gloopy mess. 0.5 stars

Their HK Lemon ice tea is fantastic, among the best in town. 5 stars

Their Satay Beef Noodle was alright. 3 stars

This place always has a line up compared to all the others in the food court but you'll realize why after eating the food. The stir fried flat noodles with sliced beef (combo w/ iced lemon tea) is my personal favorite.

Update 2025. I was there just after opening at 9AM, line up already.

During the past few years, there’s been some changes, not exactly sure of the scope of change but probably involves staff and mode of operation.

I find it impossible to phone in order ahead of time, so one must go through the line-up process, the wait can become very long.

I also find the quality of cooking a little different, still good but somehow not as delicious as before, most likely cooks/cooking method changed.

I ordered a breakfast with vermicelli, my vermicelli was ready about 5 minutes before my eggs were ready, so they were close to being cold when the eggs were done. The eggs were overcooked, I did not ask for it that way.

Prices have gone up so deals are not so great but still a bargain, breakfast went up about 50-60%.

Still a very convenient and comfortable dining experience. But watch out for the long lineups. Enjoy.

2020 Great Milk Tea!!!!!! Great Prices. Best deal in Richmond. Food quality quite good.

$8.xx includes tax, taste not good. Plain water soup base of the macaroni, fried eggs and lunch meat are extremely bad, like rubbish

Pretty average HK style cuisine. A bit bland tasting, but in keeping with the price point. Good deal and decent food, just don't expect much more than average.

Most affordable hk breakfast in Richmond. I love that you can get a decent sized and great tasting breakfast with a GIANT drink for just $6-8. (I always opt for the chicken steak.) Gotta give props for the people who work here (especially the woman who takes orders): super efficient + never rude to customers even though the job is probably very stressful.
