Ordered a 6 inch chestnut cake from Janice and the overall quality went down a lot compared to before. Just a heads up, the chestnut cake only has one layer of chestnut filling although the individual slices in the display have two layers. The cake also lacks flavor, especially the chestnut filling.

Cakes got worse, whipped cream wasn’t mixed well so the matcha mouse was chunky, corn bun wasn’t fresh and very dry with hard corn, fruit cake seemed to have been there way too long. Stuff just isn’t fresh here find some other place like La Patsserie or Maxims for similar price and products that are fresher.

This place is located within the Union Square Shopping Center in Richmond. Parking is notoriously difficult to find at all times of the day. The inside of this place is small, and their selection is rather limited, especially towards later in the day. In terms of price, they are about 35% cheaper than One Cake Boutique, and comparable to T&T prices. The place is cash only. Their pastry tastes mediocre. They are not bad, but nothing really stands out.

Bought a red bean mochi bun on Sunday afternoon, ate it the same day at night time. When I took a bite out of it, the bun has already turned sour, it tasted so unpleasant that I needed to spit it out immediately

We have been buying from this shop for quite a few years. Lately like any other shops, the price has gone up (it was pricier than other shop before). What disappointed me the most in my recent visit there was a moon cake purchase. It's a very pricey moon cake (see photos). Thinking that my mother has asked me to buy one for her (she knows that she's not allowed to have too much moon cake, that's why she specifically asked me to purchase one only), I went ahead buying it from the shop. But the moon cake disappointed greatly. Not only that the moon cake it's overly sweet, she can taste that the content in the moon cake is stale. It tastes like rancid lard!!!
