Excellent Mom and Pop!

There's a lot of competition for Taiwanese food in Richmond, and the food court itself has plenty competitors.

I decided to try the Gua Bao here - perfectly done. The meat was juicy with a fluffy bun which contrasted nicely with the peanut and sugar. I eat a lot of Taiwanese food in the States and they did an excellent job, I they could compete in Cali.

The owner was also very nice. Final touch was it was a great value.

Highly recommend!

I used like this restaurant, good food and good service. But yesterday, I ordered beef noodle soup and 2 cold side dish, waited for 25 minutes, still no food, which is very unusual. The explanation the server gave me did not make sense at all. So I left.

Joy’s Taiwanese Food at Parker Place mall is a hidden gem! Their beef in marinated sauce is incredibly flavorful, and the deep-fried chicken thigh on rice is perfectly crispy and tender. The ground pork noodles are a comforting delight. The friendly staff make the dining experience even better with their warm hospitality. Highly recommend for an authentic and delicious Taiwanese meal!

The typical cheap, delicious, and cash-only place in a Richmond food court, it's fantastic! It is very hard to find seating during rush hours in the food court though. Their menu is wide stacked, and I highly recommend their beef stew with rice :)

There were several menus posted on the side of the restaurant, and I finally ordered Zuo Yike's salted crispy chicken rice. I thought about adding $3.50 for a cup of frozen lychee green tea. When I asked for money, the waiter asked me to add $4 for the menu. It was written to add $3.5, but he said that menu was no longer the latest price. Looking back at the menu, it turns out that the year 2021 is printed in the upper left corner, so the system should have changed it early? I stuck it on the left side and refused to change it. It was a bit misleading and I felt bad. The lunch box and salted crispy chicken are quite delicious, but compared to other stores in Quarantine, the portion of the box lunch is $13.5, which is not much. I will choose another store next time.
More than a week later, I went to Parker place food court again, and the order was still...😵‍💫

The chicken is crispy and moist. The chilli oil dumpling is also great, thin smooth slippery skin and balanced chilli oil sauce. The lady is very welcoming.

Traveling from Taiwan, I was really surprised to taste such Taiwanese flavor. The red oil and Sichuan peppercorns are very fragrant. The frozen lemon tea and milk tea are also very smooth and have just the right sweetness. Highly recommended!

I had a big breakfast, so I only ordered a squid soup for lunch. It tasted good, but was a bit watery. I would like to compare it to 4.5 points and try something else next time!

Had salty chicken rice for lunch. A bit disappointed. The salty chicken were too salty. Side veggie was a bit lacking.
