The wonderful smells coming from this bakery hit you before you even enter it. The breads are fresh, light, airy and slightly sweet. Fillings are packed with flavor. And the prices are quite reasonable. Lovely little place!

I love Asian pastries, especially when they’re baked fresh — and Kim Do Bakery does not disappoint. The winter melon pastry is my absolute favorite. It’s light and flaky on the outside with a deliciously sweet winter melon filling inside. Every sweet bun I’ve tried has been generously filled, which I really appreciate. You can tell they don’t skimp on the good stuff. Definitely a go-to spot when I’m craving fresh, classic bakery treats.

Dec 30, 2025 - This bakery is a classic Hong Kong–style spot offering all the familiar Cantonese favourites—pineapple buns, BBQ pork buns, cocktail buns, and more. Just be aware that if you arrive later in the day, many of the popular items may already be sold out.

Because the shop is located right beside a bus stop, the entrance can get crowded, especially when people take shelter from the rain or wind. On my visit, the cake selection was quite limited, so if you’re planning to buy a cake, it’s best to pre‑order in advance.

Overall, the buns are good, but the prices have definitely been creeping up. $2.40 for a pineapple bun but it's still a better value than other bakeries in Richmond.

Plenty of parking at Richmond Centre if you're driving here. This review is for the location beside Richmond Centre.

A great selection of asian style bread and pastries, prices are reasonable, the deep fried red bean bread reminded me of the exact same bread I had in my childhood back in the 80s.

The chicken cookies are too dry and chewy, and don't have enough meat/fat flavour. Everything else is okay.

Bakery items are good however the older middle aged Chinese lady with short hair at the counter gives off bad vibes. I went in on Wednesday morning to buy 3 buns and brought my own bag yet she looked at my tray and asked me if I need a bag without acknowledging that I brought one myself. Her tone was I appropriate and rude. Will not return as the location at Parker Place offers much better service without the bad attitude.

Pork buns, sausage and spring rolls are my favorate breakfast. Sausage rolls are a Brit thing I think the Chinese took and perfected in Hong Kong. Just the right spice and pastry is always the best

Visit this bakery and bought my favorite cookies but this time the flavor is off and doesn’t taste right 😔. Bake too long and forget to add butter? Cookies were hard!
