I came straight here up arriving Richmond. I remember how good those wife cakes were when I visited the first time 10 years ago. The store has expanded since. It’s much bigger than I remembered.
There are sooooo many varieties to choose from. I got different kinds and of course wife cakes as well. The original one is better than the one with date filling. I also really liked the pork floss pastry and egg tarts. I would come here all the time if I live near by.
The only down side is that they only accept cash or debit cards.

A wide selection of Asian pastries. Bought 4 of them, everything is tasty. The only downside is they’re not as fresh as we went there when they were closing. But I love the matcha mochi with red bean paste filling!

The circumstances are egregious, unacceptable and strongly condemned.
My elderly family member was bullied by employees with a mean attitude while shopping at Jindu Cake Shop in Richmond Center.
I have made a formal complaint to the company
Now waiting for a reply from the company's senior management
Pineapple bbq pork buns are delicious! Also highly recommend their sausage and cheese buns. Always great quality and delicious.
Brings a feel of Hong Kong. Their white sliced square bread is the best. Always get their pineapple bun and make our own butter at home.

Best Asian bakery. For the price and the size of the buns you get, it’s very worth it. And their pastries are delicious

My favourite Chinese bakery shop, egg tarts are very fresh, tart shelf is just perfect crispy. First time to try century egg puffs, I love the combination sweet and century egg flavours. Highly recommend to everyone.

Best HK milktea in Vancouver
Very hard snacks, obviously reheating or overcooking. The price is not affordable, and I won't go again.

Recent review: We bought six types of Chinese pastries:
1. Wife pastry - thick skin with tasteless filling 2. Preserved Egg - there was no pink ginger inside as in the past and the preserved egg was one big chewy piece 3. Date paste - bitter 4. Walnut Pineapple - minimal sweetness 5. Taro - tasteless 6. Red bean - minimal sweetness.
These pastries were supposed to be sweet. However, there was no sugar in the pastries (most of them were tasteless). We were shocked by the inferior quality because they were famous for these pastries. The pastries were better in the past.
Review: This review is for the mousse cake. I ordered a 8" pumpkin mousse cake. The woman on the phone laughed at me when I asked her about the cakes were like. What was so funny when customers wanted to know more about the cakes (since they are expensive)? They were discouraging customers from asking questions. Also, I asked for a few Asian flavours (e.g. green tea) and they said they were not able to make them. They told me the fall flavour, pumpkin, was available. So I had that instead. She said a few times that she needed to ask the pastry chef but she did not go and ask. So I needed to ask her to ask the pastry chef for me. Did she want my business or not?
At the end, she asked me for the earliest time that I could pick up the cake. When I told her 1pm, she said, 'We might be able to have the cake ready by then." What do you mean? Will the cake be ready by then or not? The employee was confusing with a condescending tone. When we went to pick up the cake, another server came to take our cake away and moved it back and forth for some reason while our server was making the cake box. The employees should be very careful with the cakes.
For the cake, the pumpkin mousse was not a mousse; it was cream and the pumpkin taste was light. Shockingly, they put canned pumpkin puree in the middle of the cake which caused the water to leak through the sponge cake layer underneath the puree (which was moist) onto the cardboard. No one would do that for any pumpkin desserts unless you want to ruin the desserts. It created a mess for us. Also, they put stale thyme as garnish on the cream which made the cake look weird and gross (the thyme were partially black). In addition, they used mini Golden Oreo cookies as garnish which were unnecessary.
A typical Chinese bakery with a good selection of items. While the prices are a bit steep, the quality is solid. However, the cashiers could be a bit more welcoming with a smile. (August 2024)
