Good food. Authentic.
Mostly I paid for the environment, least service and the food was so so or even can describe it as bad. Not recommend it unless you really want to try how so so it is:)
Went for dinner with family and decided to go to this place based on past good experience.
Since our party was not feeling too hungry we ordered a variety of shareable food which in the end turned out to be still great per price point.
Service was par as we were not initially offered water or anything except the menu. I had to go up to the front to request hot water and tell that I'm ready to order. That's something I believe can be improved on to better the experience to a future 5 star.
The atmosphere was great and it also had outside seating of the water view which we opted out due to the cold temperature.
Despite the service experience, I will still continue to put this place as an eating option.
Ordered take out for 6 people and every dish was incredible and was hot and ready to eat. Great variety and the curry was amazing. Spring rolls were awesome.
Came here to try the famous Malaysian dish, Hainan Chicken Rice, and yet I was given a small bowl of plain steamed rice without any chicken flavor. Besides, the Hainan chicken was not authentic at all! It didn’t have the slippery sensation that other places’ Hainan chicken was known for. The menu indicated that it was $20, but the bill showed $26, and the lowest tip option, which was 15% of the final cost after taxes, was about 5 dollars without any friendly services. Would not come back!
We placed an order on May 18 at around 12:40pm through Fantuan at Kari House in Steveston, Richmond, BC.
I had scheduled pick up at 6:35pm. At around 6:25pm, my husband received a text message that our order was cancelled.
It took me 30 min to drive to the restaurant and only to find out when we got there that our order was cancelled.
When I spoke with the staff, they said they no longer use Fantuan for online orders and had informed Fantuan. But when we go on website to order online, Fantuan is still a selection.
This was very inconvenient and took a lot of time out of my day. We ended up reordering and waited another further 30 min. This caused delay for a dinner that was with other people as well as extended my time out when it was not needed.
Came back here after almost 10 years. The food was definitely not as good as it used to be
$18 TomYam Soup with 4 little baby prawns, quite disappointed
Disappointing. Food used to be better. Will not go back!!
Absolutely amazing food and service in a beautiful location with amazing view of the river.
Highly recommend if you like authentic Malaysian fresh food !!

The top recommendation is chicken skewers?, deep fried pork belly is a bit too fat and tastes bland.

A restaurant specializing in Thai and Malaysian food. Lunch specials are available even on weekends. Food was ok, but was not outstanding. It did come with a gingery soup. There were also beverages from Malaysian including teh tarik. The restaurant is not very big, but there are seating for 2, 3, and 4 guests. Food came out pretty quick after ordering. Lots of different options to choose from.

I’ve been here a couple of times. Food is not at excellent level but it definitely scratched my cravings for Malaysian food (and sometimes Thai flavours). I wish they opened the patio more often, maybe I always caught them on the wrong day.

We ordered several foods , pad thai was terrible as if the chef was stingy on the flavour , you eating pad thai and just tasting boiled noodle, amount is good but although when the food has no taste you lose your appetite, it was like a knife to the heart. If they promise me that they will fix their pad thai I might give them another chance maybe.
Located in the heart of Steveston Village right on the wharf. It is challenging to find parking during the weekends. Very welcoming atmosphere. Vide variety of Malaysian Food. If you like spicy food, this is the place to visit. Our seating arrangement was outside, right on the waterfront deck, wich excellent view of the fraser river. Food was excellent and thw spice level was perfect. Will definitely revisit this place. ❤️
