We drove from Seattle, WA to Vancouver, BC. We decide to swing by Kirin in Richmond for lunch before heading to Vancouver. When we got there we were told they don’t take walk in, reservation on. So I asked the host if she has any recommendation for good dim sum in Richmond that take walk in. She said check Google with an annoyed attitude and unnecessary rudeness. Will NEVER recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Made reservations a month in advance to make sure I was able to get a spot. Showed up at 10am and was seated fairly instantly. This is hands down the best dim sum I've ever had in my life. Take into consideration that I live near san gabriel valley, CA and grew up in San Francisco. It's fairly priced when comparing to USD, but if you're talking straight CAD, it's quite pricey per dish. The taste is well worth it.

It was my first time dining here, and I was quite disappointed. This is by far the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever visited. The ginger beef I ordered was excessively salty, the fried rice was mediocre, and the stir-fried green peas with chicken and shrimp were off. I experienced food poisoning shortly after my meal. Additionally, the prices are far too high for the quality and quantity of food served. I would not consider returning to this restaurant.

Rude and rude reception.the food is fare. No elevator on third floor restaurant and it’s odd.

We made our order but forgot about informing peanut allergy until a few minutes later. We did tell them and the first dish came with peanut, and the second one came with some peanut paste. My son took a bit of the paste and realized it was peanut, then stopped consuming. Luckily nothing really bad happened. Not entirely their fault but I need to warn you about these for those whom have allergies. Watch out and be careful yourself, don’t rely on others.

We received excellent service from our server Kobun when we ate dim sum lunch on August 6,, 2025. Th pork liver siu mei is especially delicious which is recommended by him.

Unable to get us a table without reservation on Sunday night. We came back next day. Ordered the steamed grouper — super tender, though the soy sauce was a bit on the salty side. The stir-fried water spinach with garlic and chili slivers was absolutely delicious; the thin strips of chili added the perfect finishing touch. The bitter melon with beef was just okay.

We appreciate the excellent customer service, spaciousness and delicious food. Dining with Kirin is a delightful, respectful experience. Arrived in time for the famous BC spot prawns. We would like to thank the servers and receptionist for the service provided.
