After over ten years of dining at this establishment, my visits hereafter have come to an abrupt end, due to an incredibly unnerving experience, on Monday February 09, 2026. I ordered my usual Cobb salad, and asked the server if the dressing had changed. She assured my that it had not....but saw that I was not pleased with the overpowered vinaigrette dressing. They went to the back and confirmed the dressing was incorrect, and offered to remake the entire salad and took the one that was on my table drenched in dressing. It was getting late and i had ordered enough, and kindly asked for it to be wrapped to go. I got home opened the box, only to become utterly disgusted and disappointed to find the exact same incorrect salad taken from my table, garnished with some fresh chicken pieces and avacado, with the correct dressing put on the side. Thats a remake? Recycled ingredients? I called back the day of this incident and was told I would get a call back- did not happen until I called. I work in healthcare and this is outrageous. This experience brought me to tears as I have been a loyal customer to this establishment for over a decade. I called back yesterday again, and was told the manager was the one that remade the salad and there was nothing that could be done about this. That is concerning! This salad still sits in my fridge and will be thrown out today- what a waste! .... So long to my business everyone. I grew up in Steveston and you are no longer my favourite establishment. This is truly a shame...

We loved sitting outside watching the sunset even in February! Service was over the top amazing from the moment we arrived with four grandkids under age of 4! Would highly recommend this place. Just if you order wings ask for them to be made well done.

No MSG No Garlic Foodie
We were on our way back from picking up a parcel and stopped by Steveston for lunch. If I hadn't done research online, we would have easily missed Kove Kitchen because it faces the sea and the front of the building had the name of a different business. In fact, will Siri guidance, we still drove past the restaurant and got lost. After braving the weather to walk to the sea front door of the restaurant, we decided to try it. There was only one server who performed the role of host, bar-tender, and server. My initially menu choices were: Bangers & Mash or Balinese Vegan Bowl. Unfortunately, both my selections had garlic in the ingredient. As my partner had already selected Fish and Chips, I surprised myself by selecting fish and chips after finding out that the fish was not seasoned with garlic. Since I haven't had fries or fish and chips for a while, I expected to regret ordering something so unhealthy and really expected to taste the lingering grease. But to my surprise, the fries did not taste greasy, and neither did the fish. The meal was quite enjoyable and the fish fresh. As the restaurant filled up, I started to get anxious when there still wasn't another server in sight for the whole restaurant. By this time, the server was taking rather large steps in between tables and the kitchen, efficiently delivering coffee, food and taking orders. Finally, I was able to stand near the cash register to catch a moment where I could pay my bill. Although the food was enjoyable, I don't think I can handle having to wait for service in a full restaurant with a single friendly wait staff.

This is a dish you want to photograph before taking the first bite. The crab and lobster ravioli with pesto sauce impressed not only with its appearance but also with its taste. The pasta was delicate, thin yet firm, exactly how perfect ravioli should be. The seafood filling was refined, with a subtle saltiness from the crab and a gentle sweetness from the lobster, balanced by the green pesto that added freshness and the aroma of basil.
The crushed nuts on top created a pleasant texture contrast, while the microgreens and cherry tomatoes added freshness and color. The portion looked light but was quite satisfying. It was one of those dishes where the harmony of flavors, presentation, and ingredient quality came together perfectly.
Special mention goes to the service. The waiter was exceptionally attentive, genuine, and professional, which is honestly a rarity in Canada. Thanks to that, the atmosphere of the dinner was even more enjoyable, leaving an overall wonderful impression of the restaurant.
