Honestly it’s a great place and you should go. They got sweets, savories, matcha, ice cream, a store, etc It’s great! Go here! The only downside is that you’re gonna want to buy a lot of things!!! Definitely a must visit when you’re in Vancouver! Updated from previous review on 2025-09-09
I have been a vegan for over 14 years and I have tried so many vegan chocolate chip cookies all over the world, I’ve also tried different recipes to bake them and nothing, trust me when I say nothing compares to their cookies 🍪 My husband and I went there once and if it wasn’t because it was very far from our hotel, we would’ve been there every day of our stay in Vancouver. What did we have? See the pictures 👇🏼
Pretty great place, great deserts

People were lovely. We had the Opera cake, which was amazing! The basque cheesecake, also fantastic. The turtle truffle mousse was also good and the soft serve ice cream was also well received!
Highly recommend this as a little dessert spot ❤️

It had a slice of ube cake and it's so good~! The frosting, the cake (the little pearls aren't edible). The purple colour is really pretty!
Unfortunately, they didn't have the mochi buns. Otherwise, I would love to try them as well.

Cashier on her phone instead of helping customers, and she needs some customer service training.

Level V Bakery is an absolute gem! Their vegan ice cream is unbelievably creamy and flavorful—you’d never guess it’s dairy-free. The cheesecake is rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, making it one of the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly and cheerful. Every visit feels like a treat, and I love discovering new flavors they create. If you’re in Vancouver and love desserts (vegan or not), this place is a must-try!

I had the Ube and matcha swirl ice cream on a charcoal cone (for extra) and it was fabulous. The ice cream held up extremely well despite the hot weather outside. It was not too sweet.
As for the ube cake slice, perhaps because we got the last one of the day it had been drying up in the display case all day and had a bit of a drier batter. However when we placed an order for the full ube cake and ate it fresh, the texture was spongy and ube with a gentle taste.
The cafe is definitely picture worthy if that's what you're going for, both the bakery and ice cream make up for the higher price point.
The seating arrangement is like little tight and the seats are small.
If you're coming in from the commercial street, you should look for a matcha themed store. It is more visible than the level V bakery sign. Otherwise you can enter through the community centre as well.

TRUE 5 star all around. My boyfriend got a tiramisu cake. As someone who loves tiramisu and very lactose intolerant, this was the best version for a vegan gluten free cake. Almost reminds me of being in Italy 🙏🏻

It is great when you find a bakery with gluten free treats. It's amazing when they are all delicious! Everything we tried was so good!

I visited this place like a week ago (mid July - 2025) and I actually went here for the Softie Co. Vegan ice cream and it turns out that’s actually inside this bakery. Then I saw that they have matcha tea, other matcha bakery items as well as other desserts. I almost fell in love with the place seeing how many gluten free options they have! I wanted to try more but for this time I only tried the mochi muffins (because I also had the ice cream—i will write a separate review for that under the Softie co. place). Can’t say I liked the mochi muffins a lot—they just used flavouring i think instead of real strawberry—but it was ok. Will definitely go back to try other desserts and matcha tea.
They’re situated kind of inside a community center and the community center has a washroom. The bakery itself is a bit narrow and it does get crowded so it might be a little hard to get a table. But I was able to find one. I also tried their herbal tea and it was good. They do actually brew it from loose leaf tea as opposed to using tea bags like other places, which is nice.
Here are the gluten free options: Charlotte Berry Mousse, Death by chocolate pistachio raspberry mousse slice, strawberry muffin, mango pudding mousse, opera cake, mochi muffins (matcha and strawberry), strawberry matcha tiramisu, eclaire.

Oh my goodness where do I even start? Maybe I can start with customer service as soon as you walk in. You're greeted by a very lovely smile and tons of patience. I went with my whole family and do I tell you we needed that patience?
Then it gets down to the savory pastries. Literally some of the best in the business and I've been to over 50 vegan and vegetarian bakeries in the US primarily on the east coast and nothing comes even close and that's a huge benchmark.
My favorite was the ham and cheese salt bread. The desserts were literally elite! Everything was delicious nothing was a Miss. However, there was one that stood above the rest and that was that pistachio filled cookie. One of the best cookies I've ever had, regardless of the bakery and that rings above all cookies including vegan, vegetarian and regular.
Level V extremely delicious and I wish there was one here in the US but until there is I'll be flying back to Canada to try this exclusively.
Side note my mom who was a strict vegan tried their soft serve sweet potato ice cream and said it was the best ice cream she ever had and she gets all the vegan ice creams everywhere.
A rare gem of a place gets a rare score of 10/10

June: matcha Ube soft serve is the best too
October: had to update to 5 stars because the vegan pumpkin pie was the best ever here! 🥧
September: I did a special mooncake order for fresh mooncakes and I think I did better with them since they were vegan but they were pretty dry (only the one with pineapple filling was somewhat moist) so they didn't seem totally fresh 🥮

We tried the Ube Mochi Bun and chocolate pecan turtle mousse. Both were great. Loved the selection, there were even a couple savory pastries. Everything is vegan. I need to come back to try their matcha. Very cute bakery. Wish there was one in my hometown!
