The food here is pretty good, but the selection is a bit limited. Most of the options are typical Hong Kong–style dishes, which are fine, just not a lot of variety.
I do appreciate that the flavours are familiar and comforting, and the portion sizes are reasonable for the price. The service is friendly and the food comes out fairly quickly, which makes it a convenient spot for a casual meal. The environment is clean and relaxed, though it can get a bit busy during peak hours.
If you’re looking for classic HK café staples, this place does them well. Just don’t expect a very wide menu or anything too unique. Overall, it’s a reliable choice when you want something simple and satisfying.

Portions have become ridiculously small. Cashier and helper is more focused on chatting with each other more than anything. When asked a question they are the most unfriendliest people to be around. Maybe customer facing service job are not for these people...

Fried rice had nice flavour, but little ingredients.
What brought the service rating down to 1 star was that I was overcharged for the drink. As part of a meal, the drink should have been discounted, but cashier charged regular price.
When I pointed this out she smirked, as if she purposely did it, and did not apologize. She just handed me back some coins and pretended nothing happened.
Disappointed in the dishonesty of the business or the cashier. Don't like seeing customers get overcharged and most probably will not even notice, since it's a rushed and chaotic environment at peak times.
Also the hot milk tea did not come with sugar nor did they offer it. After being overcharged I did not want to go back to ask. :(

Mambo Cafe is a popular Hong Kong-style cafe located in the Aberdeen Centre food court in Richmond, BC. It is known for its diverse menu of comfort food, including HK cafe staples like the baked pork chop on rice and hearty macaroni dishes, along with popular items like baked seafood on rice or baked bolognese spaghetti. The cafe is also well-known for its drinks, especially the hot or cold HK-style milk tea.
It is a bustling spot within the food court, often with a line, and is a great place for a quick and affordable meal while shopping.
I’m not sure if anyone knows. But they also do carry out catering. Prices are reasonable.
Cash only here.

worst food at this foodcourt, stir fried rice noodle is burnt, vermicelli is bland, and we found a live flying fly inside the box of the rice noodle as we eat! never again!

Got the lamb curry - honestly, not a huge fan. A lot of bone and the meat was very fatty. Curry was okay. Felt a little disappointed given the price.

Pretty disappointing experience. The cashier messed up my order and refused to take responsibility—no apology, no fix, just attitude. On top of that, the food was mediocre and not worth the price. There are much better options in the food court. Do yourself a favor and order elsewhere.

Very tasty food, good flavor and good price. Can go wrong with the food you order at Mambo cafe
I come here for take out fried rice. They offer quite a variety that are good quality and reasonably priced.
Yung Chow fried rice is $13.50. That’s pretty good for what you get here.
Large chunks of shrimps with chasu.
Love it!!!
