Master Hung BBQ & Won Ton

2025.10.28 We finally got here during the lunch time to order their wonton prior to 1500. I would say the broth in the wonton was acceptable, nothing great or even good. The shrimp filling in the wonton was better tasting than the broth of a more complex flavor. Also had their combo plate of BBQ meats, but substituted the roast duck for the roast pork. Their BBQ pork is definitely a favorite here. Bills under fifty dollars subject to 3% fee using a credit card for payment.

2025.10.05 Wonton is available for lunch time only before 1500. The scrambled eggs with BBQ Pork, Green Beans with Beef in Black Bean Sauce, BBQ Pork Shrimp Fried Rice. The beef was very soft from velveting the meat, the BBQ Pork in the fried rice are from the day before. We had nice service this time.

2025.08.21 The food here is top rate. I declined an offer of a menu two course fish meal for CAD 59, instead ordered off their combination menu which includes a soup of the day; 25. Scrambled Eggs with BBQ Pork CAD 25; and 31. Sole Fillet with House Sauce, CAD 25 per plate; steamed rice bowl CAD 2.

Their soup of the day has a nice rich broth. Both choices were excellent tasting. The fish was delicate, moist, very flavorful. The scrambled eggs were very delicate, moist, slightly underdone; BBQ Pork was very sweet and pleasant, the vegetables still retained some integrity on crispiness, the sauce just made the whole presentation very satisfying. Their food is excellent, top rate, a winner here.

The other two elements could use improvement; service was rather minimal, business like, not friendly, not warm, rather cold like the weather, they give you the feeling that you should leave when you're not spending any more, not longer, tipping is optional.

Atmosphere was unwelcoming, uncomfortable with the doors opened. No WiFi, credit cards accepted for dine-in only, take away is cash only, extra soup CAD 8, CAD 0.5 charge for each container or bag.

Ordered the special 煲仔飯(clay pot rice) costing over $70. It contains dry preserved sausage, duck and meat. But the duck meat had been contaminated which tasted strange and consequently the rice tasted bad as well. One unusual observation is that they didn't bring out the pot with the ingredients which were brought out on a dish and separate bowls of rice. We then asked to speak to the person in charge who came by and said there was not anything they could do. All in all, poor quality food and inadequate customer service. We certainly will not return.

This place used to be good, but the price increased dramatically ever since Covid. The food still tastes good though

I ate the most expensive hot pot rice, can you believe its $78ca, not the big pot, not the expensive sea food on the top, just like a $10 food, don't let them fool you! Don't order by phone, if not they won't let you cancel!

To-go order. “Yi Wo Choy”(2 dishes + soup) costed $52 incl. tax). The sweet & sour pork wasn’t tasty at all and portion was so small, and another dish was just averaged. Big difference between the past & present, disappointed!

Typical old school Chinese service. Attentive, yet not annoying. Had to wait even I had a reservation. Restaurant was very crowded, tables are too close to each other. Food is good and price is reasonable.Not the best dining experience if looking for a nice intimate dinner with family.

I recently dined with a few friends here for the first time, and the experience was not acceptable. We ordered a combo menu hoping to save a bit money, but the waiter, who later claimed to be the manager, deliberately tricked us into ordering similar dishes that weren't on the combo menu. We followed her advice, but assumed what we ordered was still included in the combo. Only after we finished our meal and paid the bill did we realize our order was à la carte, not the combo menu, and the bill was much higher than we expected. The manager's behavior was clearly misleading and deceptive, and she refused to acknowledge the problem. As consumers, we should have had the right to know and be informed upfront, but the manager deliberately concealed the truth and acted rudely, claiming “she'd been doing this for 10 or 20 years, so what?”. First time this many years in Canada that we've encountered this kind of situation at a restaurant. In terms of total amount, it’s not a big deal, but we think we should let other customers know. After such a very unpleasant experience, we would definitely not recommend this restaurant if they are still acting like this.

Tried Master Hung’s Cha Siu and BBQ Duck Rice, absolutely satisfying. The portions are generous, and the flavors hit all the right notes. The cha siu is tender and well-glazed, while the duck is juicy with perfectly crisp skin. It’s hard to find that level of authenticity, but this place delivers.

Their Cantonese BBQ 燒味 is amazing, this is one of the top Cantonese BBQ in Richmond, the C/P ratio is very good and the taste is really good. Recommended to all people who wanna try Cantonese BBQ.

We ordered BBQ pork and shrimp dumplings noodles. BBQ pork is very delicious. Wun tun noodles is quite 👌. Nice people and good customer service 👍.

Tried their $48 Soy Chicken because IG said it was the best ever. Wrong again, IG. The chicken and the taste was just OK. Not worth it for $48. Would not get it again.
