My wife and I have eaten here frequently over the last 8 years or so. Despite likely changes in ownership the food has remained very good overall. Fish quality seems quite high and fresh. Their rolls are creative and there is an exhaustive menu of choices. Udon is comforting and their bentos are pretty good value with big portions. I often get the steveston Bento and it is ALOT of food but always very satiating. The last visit we had to the Richmond location was in early November 2025 and it was still very good. Will continue going here on our trips to the west coast.

We picked up an Alaska Rol, Cali & Dynamite rool last nite; it was awful. Smelled fishy, was dry and nary a cuke or avo was tasted. My mom's Alaska roll was a huge disappointment from having eaten inside and the roll being completely different size. I came from Van Isle to visit with high expectations on her recommendation and was disappointment to say the least. What happened?

I tried calling them and it went straight to voicemail like 30 times when it said they were open. I love the food but I going straight to voicemail is horrible

We went back with more friends for a second go at the Lobster Party. It was fantastic both times. The staff was friendly, quick and attentive. I would recommend going here for sushi next time you're in the Steveston/Garry Park area of Richmond.

EDIT: Returned a couple of times. Have always had excellent sushi here. Had sushi once at a place downtown Richmond and had food poisoning. Made me realize how good the sushi is here at Steveston.
Always come here for yummy sushi whenever I am in Steveston. Guaranteed to have great sushi rolls. They also have the best green tea I have had anywhere.

I did my research around the area ahead and locked this sushi restaurant as it has good options and prices. After visiting the fisherman wharf and the Cannery, we came here for lunch. The Chirashi Don was nicely packed with dishes. Chicken teriyaki has great portion. I ordered the Mega Sashimi which was nicely presented and good quality fish. I may got more fish for the same price with two Sashimi bento, but those would be more average fish. Very fresh food, very friendly staff.
We love Japanese food and we have tried many Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, Richmond, Japan, Hong Kong ,China & Europe. In comparison, Mega Sushi falls short on our expectations in terms of quality. We have selected this restaurant based on a 4 stars rating, but we are quite disappointed! I hope the owner could make improvements; I do not want to give any negative in full details. I will visit this restaurant again next year!

While the food was delicious my experience with Uber Eats and the restaurant was not ideal. I made my order on Uber eats with a note regarding an allergy. The restaurant called me once they received my order. They couldn’t accommodate the request and told me to cancel the order, and re-submit. I did and our second order was delicious and delivered. Uber eats has charged me fully for the first cancelled order. After speaking to them they say I’m out of luck. The restaurant also tell me they can do nothing about payment issues. I am out $77 for sushi I didn’t receive. And the whole ordeal has taken up a lot of my time. I will not use either of these merchants again. Do not recommend.
