Worst food I had in Richmond.

The noodles were not generous, two slurps and they are all gone, and there is no option for extra noodles. The pork on rice uses ground pork. I have never had a Taiwanese restaurant serve ground pork on rice before, it was always whole chunks. The chicken was not fresh. The only good thing was they gave a decent amount of chicken-around the portion of 1 leg+1 thigh in the 20$ noodles. As for aesthetics, there are too many sharp corners in the restaurant, and the figurine decorations are dusty.
Portions are small for the price, quality is extremely low. This restaurant is way past their prime.

The satay lamb may be one of the best I've tried (including the restaurants in Taiwan)

This used to be my favorite Taiwanese restaurant, but today I was served day-old deep-fried squid balls. They were dry, hard, and difficult to chew. It seemed they had simply been re-fried and covered with extra chili powder.

When I raised the issue, I was told the manager would speak to the chef about food storage. This response gave me the impression that day-old food may be reused and that the focus is on better storage rather than serving fresh food to customers.

This is the go-to place for me and my family whenever we want some authentic Taiwanese food.

Decorated in an old-fashioned Taiwanese vibe, the restaurant provides many different options of Taiwanese food. From stir fry, hot pot, rice and noodles to night market style snacks, you can almost always find something you want if you are craving for some delicious Asian food.

Will visit again for sure, and have done so many times.

The dish in the picture did not match the dish that was served. When we brought this up, there had to be multiple back and forths before we were had to switch to the dish they wanted us to switch to which matched the picture, but with a different protein option. Not providing vegetables with the beef protein option just to save a few cents is not good it’s false advertising. Either provide what is pictured or separate it into two menu items if you do not wish to provide vegetables with a dish.

Come here for the vibes, not for the food. This is a place you bring a non-chinese person to. The food is mediocre at best, but atmosphere is unique. Don't expect good food, but expect good vibes. Not the place you eat daily.

Funky classic era decor from the early part of the century. Good authentic Taiwanese food. Sometimes moans can be heard from the next door massage parlour.
