Cute spot but food sucks

Considering the high reviews of this place, I gave it a shot.. The food here is very average, and portions are small for the price. There are better taiwanese spots for both the same price, bigger portions, and better service. The ambiance is the only thing really good about this place. I would definitely not be returning to Memory Corner unless it was the only spot available. Even then, I might just opt for McDonald's around the corner. Save yourself the money and find a better place to eat.

Unfussy, good wok hay on the fried rice, CRISPY pop corn chicken, large portions, great chilli oil. 10/10 . Not to mention it’s 18$ only?! Cheap for van standards.
The sugarcane greentea drink w mousse was pretty good too.
Not much of service as its quite a casual place.
The decor is eclectic, (over)stimulating, nostalgic, abit of a mess in the best way possible (like walking into your grandmas house). Its abit loud so def more on the lively atmosphere

It should be the atmosphere. The food is really ordinary. The fried chicken is too salty and the mutton in the mutton pot is too hard.

They forgot my hot pot. My son reordered more food but my hot pot didn’t arrived. After noticing the table were served with two different hot pots already, mine still didn’t show up even we arrived earlier than them. I then asked why my hot pot was missing. Server said busy today but will check for us. Then she served it within 5 mins. By the time we were so full. Had to pack most of the hot pot. A bit disappointed.

I just don’t understand since there’s no service other than bringing you food and tea… you have to scan the stupid QR code to order, why the tip starts at 15%?? After staring at a screen whole day, can’t customers just sit down and have someone to take an order??? Since waiters don’t do anything, why do customers need to tip starting at 15%? What kind of funny world do we live in? Waiters don’t even need to take order in a restaurant anymore…
Also, food is extremely small portion, like very… the seaweed egg soup that comes with the combo simply has no flavour. Like drinking tap water … the side dish is sooo little portion…. The smallest I’ve ever seen.

Cute interior but food was not too good. I thought the popcorn chicken appetizer was great but their milk tea was really watery and bad. The 3 cup tofu was too hard and not enough flavor.

I came to Memory Corner the first time in 2021, and have become a loyal patron since then. However, I started noticing that that the taste has changed last year. The food does not taste "authentic Taiwanese" anymore. Somehing is missing. Then, I heard from a friend of mine that Memory Corner had been sold a while back. No wonder. My taste buds can tell the difference. Time to start exploring other authentic Taiwanese cuisine.

Very good Taiwanese food and bubble tea/slushies.
Came here on a Thursday after work. Keep in mind that the close for an hour in the middle of the day (closed between 3pm - 4pm). I was one of the first customers after they opened at 4pm. It was basically just me and this one other table.
The atmosphere and decor is interesting. It's like you've stepped into a outside street in China. The random brick pillars, tables, chairs, and metal teapot added to the uniqueness of the restaurant.
At first I was lost as to what to do. Apparently you're supposed to scan their barcode on the table and order through that. This was new to me, as Covid is now over, but they still kept several things from that period of time (signs, to markings).
Anyways onto the good stuff . . .
The food is good. I ordered the friend rice with deep fried chicken nuggets, the deep fried squid tentacles and a lychee slush with coconut jelly.
The rice was good, it had a "wok hey" flavour to it, not overly charred but noticable. I'd recommend you mix the chicken into the rice though, as if you eat them both desperately the chicken does have a salty aftertaste to it. The costing on it was good, light and crispy. Same with the squid tentacles. I actually enjoyed the tentacles more then the chicken, even though they seem to be the same coating just with an added spice. The lychee slushy was especially good. I paid $0.75 to add coconut jelly. I don't regret this decision at all. I was basically still chewing on them up to my last sip. Surprising as if you got this any other place, the jelly would have disappeared long ago. I also ordered regular sugar, and it wasn't overly sweet. So I highly recommend the drinks here.
Overall, great restaurant. I'll definitely be back to taste more of the menu. I highly recommend you check this place out for yourself if you're into Taiwanese food.
Parking: A little confusing at first if you're coming in from Alexandria Street. Basically, go all the way in, make a left, go straight and make a left around a corner. The restaurant literally is in the corner of the complex. I can see why they call themselves memory "corner" 😂

I’m never coming back here again. I came in with high expectations when I saw the reviews, however it unfortunately did not meet them. I had expectations that the food and service would have me wanting to frolic through a flower field naked but no, it was the complete opposite. I felt like I would’ve been more welcomed at a conversion camp.
I’ve had my fair share of bad service at restaurants, but nothing could have prepared me for the outright disrespect and racism I experienced at Memory Corner. I came in expecting a normal dining experience, but instead, I was treated horribly from the moment I walked through the door. The staff was rude, dismissive, and blatantly discriminatory, making racist comments that left me shocked and humiliated. No customer should ever have to go through something like this. It started as soon as I arrived. I noticed that other customers were being greeted with smiles, seated quickly, and treated with basic courtesy. But when it was my turn, the staff completely ignored me. I stood there awkwardly for several minutes while employees looked right at me and then turned away as if I didn’t exist. No greeting, no offer to seat me—nothing. I finally had to go up to the counter and ask if I could get a table, and even then, the employee barely acknowledged me, gesturing toward a seat without a single word. That should have been my first warning sign, but I tried to brush it off and give them the benefit of the doubt. I wish I had trusted my instincts and left, because what followed was even worse. When a server finally came to take my order, their attitude was absolutely appalling. They spoke to me in a cold, irritated tone, sighed dramatically when I asked questions about the menu, and seemed annoyed that I was even there. Meanwhile, I watched as other tables received friendly service and polite conversation. The difference in treatment was undeniable. But the worst part—the part that still makes me sick to my stomach—was what I overheard while waiting for my food. Two staff members were standing nearby, speaking in a language they assumed I wouldn’t understand. Unfortunately for them, I understood every word. They were mocking me, making racist jokes about my appearance and background, and laughing like it was the funniest thing in the world. It was so blatant that I felt frozen in shock. I kept hoping I had misheard, that they couldn’t possibly be saying those things in a professional setting, but the more they talked, the clearer it became. At that point, I was furious, but I still wanted to give management a chance to make things right. I calmly approached a staff member and let them know what had happened, hoping they would take the situation seriously. Instead, I was met with smirks and dismissive shrugs. One employee even laughed when I brought up the racist remarks, as if my complaint was nothing more than a joke. No apology, no attempt to correct the behavior—just complete indifference. I have never felt so disrespected in a public place. The way I was treated at Memory Corner was not just bad service—it was discrimination, plain and simple. And what’s even more disturbing is that the staff clearly felt comfortable behaving this way, which tells me this is not an isolated incident. If management allows this kind of behavior to continue, they are just as responsible. To anyone considering dining here, I strongly urge you to think twice. There are plenty of restaurants that will treat you with kindness and respect—this is not one of them. No business that allows open racism and hostility toward customers deserves anyone’s support. I will never return, and I sincerely hope others take their money elsewhere. Absolutely disgraceful.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My experience at Memory Corner was beyond unacceptable, and I feel obligated to share what happened so that others don’t have to go through the same thing. I came in expecting a decent meal and some good service, but instead, I was met with outright hostility, rudeness, and, most disturbingly, racist remarks from the staff.
From the moment I walked in, I could tell something was off. The staff barely acknowledged me and acted as if I was an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. While other patrons were greeted politely and served with a smile, I was ignored for an unreasonably long time before someone finally bothered to take my order. Even then, the person taking my order was dismissive, impatient, and incredibly rude. I tried to stay calm and give them the benefit of the doubt—maybe they were having a bad day—but as my visit continued, it became clear that their behavior was deliberate.
The most shocking and upsetting part of my experience was when the staff made racist comments toward me. At first, I thought I misheard, but as the remarks continued, it became painfully obvious that they had no problem making openly offensive and discriminatory comments. When I confronted them about it, instead of apologizing, they laughed and acted as if it was a joke. It was one of the most humiliating and infuriating experiences I have ever had at a restaurant.
What’s even worse is that management did absolutely nothing to address the situation. When I tried to bring it up, they either ignored me or brushed me off as if my concerns didn’t matter. The fact that they allow this kind of behavior to happen in their establishment says a lot about the kind of business they run. No one should have to tolerate this level of disrespect and discrimination, especially in a place that relies on customer service.
I left feeling angry, disrespected, and completely disgusted. There is no excuse for this kind of treatment, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. If you value being treated with basic human decency, do yourself a favor and avoid Memory Corner at all costs. There are plenty of other businesses that actually care about their customers and won’t make you feel unwelcome or disrespected. I will never return, and I strongly urge others to take their money elsewhere.
Absolutely shameful.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Memory Corner was so awful that I feel compelled to warn others. From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me with complete disrespect. They were rude, dismissive, and made me feel unwelcome. At first, I tried to brush it off as bad customer service, but it quickly became clear that their behavior was intentional.
The worst part? They made blatantly racist comments toward me. I was completely shocked and disgusted. No one should ever have to experience that kind of treatment, especially in a place that is supposed to provide hospitality. When I tried to address the issue, they acted as if it was no big deal and even laughed about it. It was beyond unprofessional—it was downright offensive.
I left feeling humiliated and angry. There are plenty of other places that will treat customers with basic decency and respect, so I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. No business that allows this kind of behavior deserves support.

RUDE service,
one of the waiters just told me “thank you for coming in with no tip” and im a working student.
While also looking, staring, and (most likely) judging how i was eating the food. I guess bring a tip next time future customers..
Food is presentable, and good/ok but i think is a bit overpriced. (which is why i couldnt tip, i didnt know tipping was required lol..)
