Great self-serve bar and menu. The squid is simply amazing, and the chicken doesn't disappoint. Solid atmosphere too. A perfect place for a night out with friends.

Best Jajangmyeon ever! With free side dishes and a yogurt drink.
I stopped by here for takeout on an off hour when I was passing through the area and was pleasantly surprised. I tried the buldak with cheese and soya / sausage and veggies and both were good. The buldak wasn’t particularly spicy, so if you want it hot it’s probably worth asking for that. For drinks they have Cass (which is great since Terra has been taking over North America), makgeolli, and soju.
Staff are super nice, even when someone randomly stops in for take out and grabs a drink while waiting (Thanks so much!). The space is small/cozy and tucked away on the second floor, and it has good ventilation and wasn’t smoky at all.
I saw a few other reviews mention portion size. I agree it’s not massive, but most of this food is really filling and for the price and quality I think it’s a great deal. I certainly wouldn’t have wanted any more. I almost passed this place up because the name left me wondering if it was Korean, Japanese, or some weird fusion of the two. Glad I didn’t!

🔥🔥🔥🙌🙌🙌Food was great! Winster our server was also really great! 💯💯He was super attentive and on top of every detail throughout our meal, I haven’t been here in a long time but finally came back with some friends who haven’t tried. Needless to say Winster and the team left a really great impression and even gave us complimentary fish soup and assi (yakult) to aid our digestion!!! ❤️💕We spent about $40 per person for a party of 4 but we did over order, so I think you can easily get a good meal in for $20-30. 🤑🤑 If you’re ever in the richmond area be sure to check this place out 🤩🤩🤩✨✨✨Thanks again Winster and Mr Bro team! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

A very pleasant dining experience! Open late for your late night cravings. Food was well made and a great portion. Side dishes are self served and have loads of options. Owner sometimes offers freebies which is a super nice gesture that genuinely cares about the guests. Highly recommended and will definitely be going back!

Mr. Bro Korean Izakaya is an absolute standout. The food is incredible—every dish we tried was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and actually enjoy your meal without feeling rushed.
The atmosphere hits the perfect balance. There’s K-pop playing in the background, which adds to the fun, but it’s kept at just the right volume so you can still have a conversation without shouting. The vibe is cozy and homey; it’s clear the owners really care. From the thoughtful decor to the curated video clips playing around the space, everything feels intentional and welcoming.
Most importantly, the service is top-notch. The staff are kind, attentive, and make you feel like you’re genuinely appreciated as a guest. You can tell there’s pride and passion behind this place—and it makes all the difference.
Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!

Restaurantji Recommends
Their food is nice, but whenever I order via Uber Eats, something is missing, and it takes too long to prepare.
This time after an hour-long wait (ordered around 8:20 pm, the order kept being delayed and didn’t arrive until 9:44 pm as the restaurant took over an hour to prepare), the Coke is missing - it’s not even listed on their restaurant receipt.
Last time in Feb I ordered Diet Coke x2 & a spicy buckwheat noodles with beef tartare, guess what🥲 the spicy sauce is missing and the diet cokes are missing as well, left alone another hour wait for that delivery.
Been ordering many times but found their preparation time is way too long recently and items keep missing. Will only order again when I want beef tartare.
This was hands down the best meal our family of five had on this trip. As a Korean, I truly appreciated the quality — the price, portion sizes, flavor, and service were all excellent. You can really see the owner’s effort and care reflected in the menu. The restaurant isn’t large, but it’s thoughtfully set up and the staff were friendly and well-trained. We were too busy feasting to take any photos — that should tell you everything! If we’re ever back in Richmond, we’ll definitely be returning.

Literally the best experience we have ever had at a restaurant. Food was great and we were given free sides such as Yakult-like drinks and a gyoza appetizer. To top it off, they gave us a dish we ordered for free because they accidentally missed that part of our order. 10 stars 💪🏼💪🏼 thank you Mr. Bro 😎
