The soup broth here is delicious and high quality tasting. We tried the pork rib and the century egg and cilantro broth and both had plenty of ingredients and rich flavour. Would recommend getting the sauce bar option for $3.99 more as it includes fruit, some sides like edamame and pickled radish, as well as the sauces. They have complimentary hair ties that are very thin but work. Wish they had ayce all the time but it’s only limited hours and when we went, it was a la carte. It’s still pretty good but not as amazing as Hai di Lao in terms of a la carte hot pot.

Tried Shoo Loong Hotpot in Richmond recently. The satay soup base was quite good, and the higher-quality meats really stood out — honestly better than Chocho and most other places I’ve been to. Carbs were solid, and overall the soup quality felt high (though for ~$30, it should be).

That said, the sauce and appetizer station was pretty limited, especially considering it’s $4/person extra — didn’t realize we had to pay for sauce at first. Value-wise, you’d probably need to go heavy on the honeydew (like 10 servings 😅) to make it worth it. I left full, but it still felt like my portions were quite limited compared to AYCE spots.

Taste alone, I’d give it 7/10, nothing outstanding but nothing bad. factoring in the cost at $5-60/person, more like 5.5-6/10. At this price point, I’d personally rather do AYCE and get extras like Portuguese tarts, fried nuggets, more veggie options, and unlimited meats.

Old school traditional hot pot is always delicious, super spicy though.

Absolutely fantastic hot pot!
We had the 2-person combo B (hemos if you don't know what to order) and It was very tasty. Our waiter also mixed Up sauces for us, all of them we're great :)

Super nice staff too, 10/10 overall!!

Came here about 5 times for set meal for 2. The restaurant tables are well space out, many options for soup base. Consistently great service!

$65 for 2 people during happy hour and we only got 2 plates of meat and some beansprouts and a small plate of veggies. If you are not here for all-you-can-eat, don’t come unless you are wealthy

Absolutely loved this hot pot restaurant! The ingredients were super fresh, especially the thinly sliced beef and seafood. The broth had a rich, flavorful base – we tried both the spicy and mushroom options and they were amazing. The dipping sauces were customizable and really brought everything together.

The service was excellent – staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to refill the soup or bring more ingredients. The environment was clean, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing dinner with friends.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic and satisfying hot pot. Will definitely come back!

Came by Shoo Loong Kan for lunch on a Friday and it was one of the best decisions we made!

Our party of 8 went with the premium all you can eat and 2 broths, pork bone and Tom yum. Both soup bases were delicious accompaniments to the food we cooked.

The regular AYCE menu include all the veggies, tofu, sliced and marinated beef, sliced and marinated pork, chicken, shrimp, mussels, fish fillets, as well as some Chinese snacks such as fried pork, Chinese donut (you tiao), brown sugar rice cakes, marinated pig ears, as well as a few other dishes.

The premium AYCE menu gives you unlimited access to items such as abalone, razor clams, wagyu sliced beef, premium sliced ribeye, tiger prawns, snow crab legs, and black fish fillets (highly recommend). Fresh fruit tea for the entire table was also included with this price (57.99 for lunch, 61.99 for dinner at the time of writing).

Everything was super fresh and the presentation came out picture perfect. This was an intro to Chinese hotpot for a few in our party and they were amazed at the quality and flavor.

We will 100% be back when we're in the area again!

What we ordered was more than enough for 4 people. We were stuffed in the end.
Nice thing was we could take the leftovers to go (as opposed to all you can eat at other hot pot spots).

We had 3 meat eaters and 1 vegetarian.
We chose 3 broths to accommodate all of us.
There were lots to each for everyone.

Fries were delicious to start as we waited, we believe they’re Costco fries.

We mostly ordered platters instead of individual plates.
