I normally get the fresh fruit cakes or the Black Forest cakes for celebrations. But today I saw the carrot cake and thought I’d give it my first try. No regrets! It is absolutely delicious! I loved that it wasn’t too sweet. This is my new favourite carrot cake! Really good quality in my opinion. The thing about Chinese people with desserts is that they are created to be “not overwhelming sweet.”

Their cakes and pastries are tasty but expensive

Their salted egg yolk custard moon cakes all have large air pockets, separating the skin from the custard. Flavor is so bland, can’t taste the salted egg yolk, just tastes like less sweet custard, the skin also has no flavor. Pack of 2 costs about $15, won’t buy again

We were shopping at the mall yesterday and had to pop into this bakery. My favourite is their Butter Buns but all their items are great. Maybe the staff were tired but didn't appear to be that communicative yesterday, service was ok. Whenever we pass the branches in Richmond, Surrey or Kerrisdale popping into a SaintG is a must.

It’s not about the quality of the bakery. It’s all about the attitude of the short hair woman who has her hair dyed. The were two times that I encountered this woman who had difficulty and a defensive attitude to fulfill a simple request of putting tarts in two separate paper bags (two in each bag). I thought it’s only her bad day and didn’t think much about it. Today while I was paying I heard this woman who kept on mocking a customer who simply asked her a question about the cakes. It’s quite an unpleasant to hear all those mocking sentences in store. When this woman mocked at a customer’s back, she could mock at other customers too. The entire atmosphere was unwelcoming!

The best Black Forest cake I’ve ever had—absolutely delicious! This is my go-to place for birthday cakes. The sweetness is just right, not overly sweet like some other cakes from Chinese bakeries. Highly recommend!

I bought a box of cookies here today. After paying, I forgot to leave a box of takeaway I just bought at the food court. I found out five minutes later. Go back and ask the cashier. They said they had thrown the takeout boxes in the trash. I didn't expect them to be so efficient. 😡😡😡

Saint Germain Bakery @ Aberdeen Centre, Richmond BC. Very convenient location by bus + skytrain. Plenty of free covered parkings. Delicious Chinese bakery, tarts Swiss roll + buns + cakes. Quick + friendly service + clean shop.

Website says Thur - Sat | 10 AM - 8 PM but when we got there on Thursday at 7:15pm we saw the staff closed the gate and walked out of the store.
