This is run by a family of three generations. They served excellent breakfast. Delivered super kind and attentive service. The Coffee had a remarkably good aroma with a powerful, deep flavor. Not burnt. Not sour. Not artificial flavors. The omelet was not oily. It had loads of ham and an honest three egg plus green peppers and finely chopped onions. This plate came with hash brown. It was unquestionably the best hash brown in the milky way. Crispy outside. Soft inside. Not greasy. Fairly thin and incredibly good taste and texture made from real potatoes. The breakfast sandwich was big but missing a little plate decor (even a little slice of cucumber would be something). Prices are from the ers before President FJB moved into the White House. I will be back!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair accessible.

I was at the Richmond Auto Mall for a car repair. Google sent us here for breakfast. We ordered an omelet and a breakfast sandwich. Awesome times one hundred. Portions are huge. Taste was superb. Cleanliness is readily better than 99% of other eateries. Quality was very good and prices reminded me of the good times before President FJB came to the white house. The hashbrown was very delicately made and crispy outside, soft inside. This is THE MOTHER of all hashbrowns. It didn't feel oily. The food wasn't salty. Their coffee puts the best coffee chains to shame. I didn't expect a low key, family run cafe to deliver such a fine breakfast meal. The big chains who think they're serving the best breakfast must visit here and learn. Thank you owners!

My favourite lunch spot and I highly recommend if you work around the area! Everyone who works there are always kind and friendly. Some of my favourites are Mondays teriyaki lunch special and their chicken burger.

Delicious sandwich at a very fair price, served up quickly. Would return without hesitation!

Truly a hidden treasure. I wouldn't have found it if I wasn't in the area but they have the best sandwiches I've had in a loong time. Fresh vegetables, delicious meats, and just the right amount of sauce. They also let you choose what type of bread you would like. The bibimbab on their specials menu was delicious with a perfectly cooked sunny side egg with a runny yolk. ? Tastes like genuine mom's cooking Korean food.I have already gone out of my way in Richmond to get a sandwich and will do it again.

Ah, the Sandwich Tree! I will readily acknowledge that nostalgia brought me here. I haven’t been to one of these restaurants since about 1994. Back then, you could usually find them in malls or around office plazas which, if you think about it, is really smart strategy – catching the lunchtime crowd. I remember patronizing locations in Chilliwack, Surrey, Burnaby, Delta and Vancouver. The Sandwich Tree was practically everywhere. Then, over the course of time, they slowly started vanishing. I recall visiting the Cottonwood Mall in the early 2000s and being kind of surprised to see that Sandwich Tree had been replaced by some other generic sandwich shop (Hello Sandwich). Come the mid-2000s, Sandwich Tree seems to have all but vanished. In 2013 I was browsing the Information Superhighway. I don’t recall what I was looking for, but I somehow managed to stumble across the official Sandwich Tree website. It contained no information at all, less the company logo, “since 1978,” and an email address for “Tony C” (whoever that is). I sent the mysterious Tony a message and asked about Sandwich Tree locations . . . all I got back was basically a note saying “they’re around.” Well, okay, then. A Google search some time later revealed a few locations in Burnaby, Delta and Richmond. Eventually, the two locations identified in Burnaby closed, as did the one in Delta. All that remained, as far as I knew, was Richmond. Well, long story short, I finally made it to the Richmond Sandwich Tree a few weeks ago . . . and it would seem I did so just in time. This location appears to be in the midst of a transition. The awnings have been stripped of the “Sandwich Tree & Grill” lettering, but the “Sandwich Tree” name is still plastered on the entranceway, and marketing materials (specific to catering) also tout Sandwich Tree. I suspect that, if I were to visit again, the changeover in branding would be complete. Thankfully the menu has, as of this writing, not yet changed. A brief comment on the interior: In a word, it’s pretty sparse, though some of this can be attributed to the physical distancing requirements of the pandemic. The light brown walls, concomitant with the basic table settings, give the impression of a college-style cafeteria. Not that this really matters, though, since most who come in here only do so for a quick lunch rather than to socialize. After browsing the simple yet appealing menu, I settled on a Ham & Swiss Sandwich (the PookyCake classic), with fries. I have to say, as far as sandwiches go, this one was pretty darn good. The bread was fresh and soft; the cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes were bright and vibrant; and the ratio of meat to cheese was spot on. In addition, I appreciated that the mayo was only sparsely applied and thus did not overpower everything else in the sandwich. The accompanying fries were plentiful and nicely seasoned as well. FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 4/5 RECOMMENDATION: Once the transition to a new name is complete, I guess that will spell the end of Sandwich Tree. It’s a shame to see this brand go the way of the dodo after 40+ years. Their logo was distinctive, fun and inviting. Oh well. If the food maintains its same level of quality under the new brand, this place will remain a nice lunch option for those working in the general area. Recommended!
