This is hands down the worst Shanghainese restaurant I have ever been to. The food was absolutely terrible, and the service was beyond awful. I ordered a crab and was told it was 2.75 lbs, but it was clearly under 2 lbs. When I asked if they could recheck the weight, the staff rudely said, “Take it or leave it.”

Every single dish was a disaster. The flavors were off, and everything tasted like it came straight out of a freezer, complete with that unpleasant refrigerator smell. It was obvious they were using poorly prepared pre-made ingredients.

If I could give this place zero stars, I wouldn’t even consider giving it one. Avoid at all costs!

It was delicious! In particular, the pork was sweet and tasty, and the eggplant dish was also good. The xiao long bao was also good, but it would have been better if there had been more ginger in the soy sauce! The tomato egg soup was thinner than I thought, and I wish there were more eggs. Overall, it was delicious, the portions were generous, and I enjoyed it. It was even better than the Chinese restaurant downtown!

Staff are nice. That’s it. The chicken is not very fresh and too salty. The fish dish uses snakehead fish which is a better choice from the typical Basa fillets, the problem is, it is made in a bowl of pure oil. The eggplant dish was ok. The soup dumplings are terrible. Skin is thick and barely any soup. The pan fried soup dumplings are slightly better, but too oily.
Worst of all, I smell cigarette smoke while eating here.

Honestly, not a huge fan. It's great for generic family dinners, iykyk. There's a ton of dishes on the menu, and they're mostly average. Since it wasn't busy the night we went in, the service was outstanding but usually it's as expected for Chinese restaurants (quick and efficient but not observant or friendly). Nothing particularly good or bad. That said, it's one of the better options available for this style of restaurant.

Lots of seating inside, well lit, generic interior design. Bathrooms were clean.

Free parking lot.

The plate and environment are clean, the fried chicken is delicious and not fishy, the green onion ginger chicken and three-cup chicken are delicious, the steamed sea bass is very fresh, and the scallion pancake is freshly made and delicious. ($44 for two dishes, including soup and rice)

A Shanghainese restaurant that has been open for many years in Vancouver has maintained the authentic taste of Shanghainese cuisine for many years. Xiaolongbao and radish pancake are particularly recommended.

The roast duck is a joke. Except for a few pieces of skin, the duck meat is not cut into large pieces but is torn into large pieces for you. It is not as good as the ones bought in T&T. The other dishes are also very average. My daughter said they are not as delicious as the ones I made. There was no service throughout the whole process. I really don’t know what courage these domestic restaurants have to make them set such high tips. I don’t know if those good reviews are just shilling or something else. Isn’t this misleading?
It's free for you, there will be no next time.

If you want shanghainese food, dumplings , there's better options in Richmond. It's cheap... But low quality. The dumpling filling had a weird taste, not really meaty. I would go somewhere else.
