Great place for lunch set, the seafood is super fresh and appetizers are delicious! Highly recommend it!

Very fresh and very well made sashimi!

The young male employee was multilingual and provided excellent customer service, leaving a very positive impression.
However, the owner repeatedly called him to the back and lectured him with a nagging tone. Watching this made me feel uncomfortable as well.
Does the owner think no one notices?
Seeing the way he treated his staff made it hard for me to fully enjoy my meal. It was truly disappointing.

My first time visited this Japanese restaurant. Surprisingly, the food , service and atmosphere are great and value for money. Chef choice Sashimis are fresh and delicious. I really enjoy the whole dining experience in this small but high quality restaurant. Recommend!

This is a small and cozy place and good for a small group as a chef is a flexible what you order. And I really like the sashimi !

One-man show traditional Japanese restaurant. Chef Shintaro is incredibly skilled and can handle multiple orders efficiently and surprisingly quick, from a relatively large menu, all by himself. Been there for years and no matter how full the restaurant is, their quality, freshness and reasonable prices remain consistent!

By far my favorite go-to for no fuss proper Japanese dishes. Everything is prepared fresh. Honestly no complaints.

Friendly staffs, and delicious food

Taste of the sushi was excellent however they are quite limited on what they had available that wasn’t sold out - we arrived around 12 and a large selection of the menu was already sold out. It is a small restaurant with around 6 tables. Overall their fish seemed really fresh - the madai was excellent. The adegashi tofu along with the shrimp tempura also tasted incredible.

Only nitpicks are the price since its a little high for the portions you get and the servers being a little awkward.

If you happen to be in the fishing village of Steveston in Richmond around lunch time, then check out the lunch specials at Shintaro Sushi Japanese Restaurant (3791 Bayview St, Richmond, BC V7E 3B6). I suggest their lunch sets because you get more bang for your buck. (I had the chicken karaage set). However, I highly recommend the lunch specials. We tried the stewed madai (seabream) head set, and it was fresh, savoury and very satisfying!

Good to know: make reservations (to avoid long waits); lunch specials are in limited quantities; they don't accept parties bigger than four; they're only open Thursday to Sunday (11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – 9 p.m.)

The chef is very rude when we bring baby there, and staring at baby all the time which makes baby crying, not recommend at all
