一碗专业的麻辣烫 Spicy Pro Hot Pot

This place is overhyped, I asked three times which one is the signature Malatang that typically sells everywhere (bigway, YGF, Zhangliang), but still got recommended chili oil one (first on the menu), which was fully soaked in oil and made us nauseous after several bites. As a Chinese, Before I didn’t know Malatang can be this bad.

Delicious, a must come place whenever I come to Vancouver. Shout out to super helpful and friendly staff.

Exactly what the name suggests, it takes you back to China…

The meat tasted not fresh at all, tofu was not even fully cooked, potato was barely cooked. Not sure how they got almost 500 reviews. Had diarrhea the same night, couldn’t eat anything the next day.

There are a lot of Malatang restaurants in town, but this is my go-to place when I’m craving for one. Pricing is definitely on the higher side among other Malatang restaurants, but the flavour is worth the price.

Ingredients are fresh and much respect that the server really pay attention to the food quality and hygiene that he observes each customer when they are picking the food to ensure there’s no cross-contamination.

The dry mix pot is my favourite, which is exceptionally delicious with strong aroma from the seaseme sauce.

The marinated chicken & beef are amazingly tender, juicy and flavourful. Hope I knew the secret technique to season and marinate the meat like this. 🥹Needless to say, those marinated meat goes well with any flavour of the soup base and sesame dry pot too!

As someone who loves Malatang and spice, I LOVE this restaurant!! It’s my go-to if I am craving a good spicy broth.

I have visited this place 4 times already, and the worker is very kind and helpful. Their concept is paying the weight of your ingredients and you have the option of choosing your spicy level.

I recommend doing mild if you just want a little spice, and medium if you are able to tolerate spice. Of course, you don’t need to add any spice at all.

Why is this place not viral yet?! This place is seriously such a hidden gem! The spicy dry mix pot is 11/10.

Ingredients are fresh. Sauce is sooooo good and flavourful. Some kind of spicy mala sesame sauce. I got medium spicy, which if you can take an average amount of spice, is not actually that spicy.

Everything was cooked to perfection. You must try the thick biang biang noodles. So chewy. Literally every single topping I got was good. Love the celtuce, tripe, beef, oyster mushroom, wood ear mushroom, cilantro, etc.

I highly recommend!! MUST try. This place has now been added to my favourites rotation 🫶🏼

Very friendly owner, good variety and fresh veggies!

Went beyond my expectations! Tried out the sesame sauce broth, and it is delicious. Rice has infinite refills as well. I wish there are more options to choose from such as pork intestine and others. Definitely would revisit.
