Very tasty gelato and sorbetto! Came here on a hot and sunny afternoon, and it's perfect!

There are a few ice cream shops in Steveston and this one is a bit tucked away next to Waves Coffee. Worth checking out.

We tried the pistachio gelato, strawberry sorbetto and the mango coconut gelato.

Went there on a Saturday at 4pm and the shop was closed, with no sign mentioning anything special (even if it was a fairly sunny Saturday). Disappointed that the opening hours seem so random.

I went there a year ago for an ice cream sandwich and recommended it to my friends, we were all pretty disappointed when we were greeted by closed doors.

Hello, we went to Sprinkles Gelato today and I will have to say the food was absolutely awful. I mean I got myself the Kinder Bueno cookie, My daughter and son got the chocoalate, banana and oreo pancake my sons was well made but my daughter was not, she let me try some after saying it was like she was chewing a piece of gum? She let me try some and I could not agree more! back to the cookie i had it was very mushy and as my daughter said it tasted like the word old. There were also only 3 people and we still had to wait 20 minutes for our food. We will not be coming here again

I went here with my 3 boys one of which was his birthday. The waffles were nice but the crepe was over cooked, staff are rude , no eye contact or manners. Also had to ask for a couple of things which one we had to ask for multiply of times and still got to to wait with her back to us. Very rude staff , need people skills. Certainly won’t be returning!

lol this place doesn’t make their own gelato they get it from a manufacturer and sell it for the same price as other spots in Steveston who DO make their gelato in-house. Walk 4 mins and go to a spot that actually makes their own stuff rather than reselling grocery-store ice cream.

I’m a big fan of ice cream, and can say with some expertise that it just isn’t hard to be good at. There are a few important things to master, and if you do that you’ll get 5 stars and happy customers every time:

1: Friendly servers. If we’re going for ice cream we’re either in a great mood on a sunny day that’s perfect for beach-side wanders and ice cream, or we’re looking to make a dreary day better – either way, a friendly, smiling server can make such a difference.

2: A variety of great ice cream. Cover the basic flavours, have a few surprises that’ll suit the adventurous types, and make sure it’s not so soft that it’ll droop down the sides of the cone the second it sees the sun.

3: Delicious cones. Whether flat-bottomed cake cones, or aromatic waffle cones, a quality cone will make or break an ice cream treat. Generally speaking, if you’re not making your waffle cones in-house, you’re not a real ice cream shop in my mind. For those who prefer cups, paper over plastic please, and wooden spoons to-go.

4: Sustainability. There’s a degree of love and passion in good ice cream, and if it’s sincere, in my experience that also extends to love for the environment. When I see metal tasting spoons, or even wooden, I already know the ice cream will be good. When I see plastic spoons, I know there’s less love in their craft, and my desire to support the vendor is diminished. We have to stop supporting single-use-plastic, and if that doesn’t make sense to you, my whole review is best ignored.

Sprinkles ended up being hit-and-miss on my list.

Friendly servers? Check!

A variety of great ice cream? Check! I had the mint chocolate chip and it was SO good.

Delicious cones? Not so much.

First, they’re TINY, meaning a scoop of ice cream is much smaller than every other ice cream shop in memory. I tried the chocolate sugar cone (a disappointing take on waffle cones that’s never the sign of a good ice cream shop,) and it tasted like cardboard. If I hadn’t been enjoying the ice cream so much I’d have just tossed the cone out, and this is coming form a guy whose favourite part is right at the end – the pointy tip of a cone filled with the gooey last bit of ice cream.

Sustainability? Nothing good to say here. How many thousands of their plastic spoons will rot for the next few thousand years in a landfill before disintegrating into microplastics that will poison the biosphere literally forever? For what? A tiny taste of ice cream? It’s madness, and I hope one day Sprinkles will reconsider this practice.

TL;DR: skip the tasting spoon, get a paper cup over a cone (you’ll still be stuck with a plastic spoon,) and Sprinkles is a reasonable spot to get a treat. If you’re looking for a proper cone and a sustainable treat, there are other options to consider.

Other than the great location everything else is mediocre and very OVERPRICEDRegular scoop size is smaller than kids scoop in other ice cream shops and you pay $20 for 2 one-scoop ice cream. They clearly take advantage of their prime location and lots of tourists in the area

Amazing selection of gelatos and sorbettos. They even have sugar free options! Owner and staff are helpful and very kind and always make great conversation. Great desserts too such as brownies, cookies, churros, and donuts. They also have milkshakes! This is truly a one stop shop for your sweet needs! Highly recommend :)

Don't expect good service here. We had two small children and they behaved well and exactly how small children should behave in a store. The same cannot be said for the owner of the store, however. We had already been there before an older couple arrived and we were patiently waiting behind another family for our turn. The owner didn't interrupt the first group's order by moving onto us. When it was our turn, my kids politely requested samples of the more unique flavors of gelatos to see what they taste like. They were maybe two samples in when the fella behind the counter, (owner?), turned to them and asked if they knew what they wanted. The lady requested a sample of one flavor and the man was undecided. She ended up ordering something and started eating it. My kid asked to try another sample and the guy behind the counter rudely, and tactlessly said that my kid had enough samples (after two samples in total of combination flavor types) and that we needed to wait for him to finish attending to the lady and man. The older customer decided to allow us to go, but the (owner?) guy behind the counter insinuated that we could wait. The older man got his cup of gelato and the lady had already paid. The entire interaction was rude to us and the way he behaved with his customer service made us end up not purchasing any gelato for ourselves, but we didn't want to punish the kids, so we allowed them to order their watermelon sorbetto on an upcharged waffle cone and a bubble gum on an upcharged waffle cone.I can forgive quite a bit and even extend the patronage so my kids don't feel the negativity of the situation, but, sadly, a business owner shouldn't choose this type of behavior when they are working with customers; regardless of anything else. If there are limits to samples, they should display the limit anywhere that is clearly and plainly visible. Maybe they had an "off" day, but as a business owner that is up close and personal with customers, where kids are going to be one of your target demographic, kindness and equitable treatment to children and families should be the rule, not the exception. No, I do not recommend this place. We found better gelato places with better and more unique flavor combinations and superior customer service in this area within short walking distance which contributed to a far better value and experience.
