The oysters were fresh and..just fresh. Cocktails were solid, and the starters beef and shrimp were good. The main dish was just okay. Service and atmosphere were fair. If you live nearby, it’s a spot for casual fine dining, but not really worth a 30-min drive.

Possibly my Dad’s favourite restaurant, we’ve gone every year for his birthday and then again last night for their anniversary. Tasty food and great service, they’re always friendly and helpful. My braised beef short ribs were great, and my Dad raved about his filet mignon.

Went here for my birthday dinner with my parents and wife. Great spot for a celebration without being overpriced. We tried four different fish (sablefish, halibut, salmon, and char) and each was cooked really well with slight variations that made them stand out. Oysters were a nice bonus at $1.50 each with entrées.

Service was excellent—our waiter kept things light with jokes and even brought me dessert when he found out it was my birthday. Overall, a solid seafood dinner and good value.

CAD1.5 oysters are only available if purchasing food and drinks over CAD15. Good to know before head.
Single choice oysters but the size is acceptable. The day I tried was a creamy one. Generous on sauce. Waiter very proactive to refill water and care about how was the food. Opening hours vary so check before you go.

Haven't been to this restaurant for 15+ years and I now know why. Didn't really enjoy the entrees. Pork belly was all fat, beef was overly salty, beet salad lacked any flavour. Oysters were good value for buck a shuck. But aside from that the food was sub par. Whole group was a bit disappointed. We wanted to like it, but just wasnt good. Service was a little awkward but friendly. Our servers seemed new.

This is a hit and miss experience. We were here for our 33rd anniversary. My wife was seated ahead while I parked the car on this very rainy day. We had a reservation for 530pm and we were a touch early. The host was warm, friendly and engaging. The host took our coats which was nice and seated us immediately. The restaurant must've been short staffed as this would be quite evident throughout the night. It took a bit to be acknowledged by our server who must've had to juggle his time between two areas of the restaurant. He was quite friendly and acknowledged that he was delayed. We did have to wait to order. I should mention that we were seated right next to the servers station and kitchen and for some reason I could smell a very strong fish smell that was not pleasant. We eventually ordered the house recommended mussels and calamari. They were quite delicious and full of flavour. I could drank that house sauce for the mussels which included bacon and onions. The calamari was lightly battered and crispy. Then we had the miso glazed sablefish and I ordered the filet mignon. My wife said the fish was good but towards the end of the fish it got very fishy smelling more so than usual. I have had my share of different cuts of beef in my life and this filet mignon tasted, felt like and cut like it was a baseball sirloin. I ordered it medium rare but it was closer to medium. It was not tender like a filet should be. The plate was average with the mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Nothing exciting here. I was disappointed. We did have to ask for water and we could hear our server scolding his young trainees about making sure no one had to ask for water. We then had to wait longer for the dessert menu and to order. This really was quite disappointing. We ordered the panacotta and the Affogato. Both good. Id say the best part of this experience was the appetizer and the dessert. And nothing else. For the price of the meal it was not worth it. I wish I could say that we would like to come back but I know that the quality of the ingredients of the mains was severely lacking. We won't be back. Note the restaurant was made aware quite awhile ago that we were celebrating our anniversary. Most restaurants would recognize the celebrants in some form. The restaurant didn't.

Buck a shuck here is always a must. Its daily for $1 with a minimum purchase of $15. The first time we came here, the food that we ordered was superb but the 2nd time, our food tasted, at least mine, was a little bland. It might have been the fish which was lingcod, that was a bit on the bland side and a bit slimy for me, as much as I love fish. But the star of the show was our server. He was amazing and was personable, sassy but kind and not pretentious. So this rating is really for our server, so thank you. I feel really bad I can't remember his name but he was just great.

We chose to spend our 40th wedding anniversary at Steveston Seafood House and we weren't disappointed. I had never eaten a whole seafood platter and we decided we would push the boat out for once.

The presentation of our meal was wonderful, truly 'a feast for the eyes' the fish was delicious and there was more than enough of everything for both of us.

Just one recommendation to the owner. It would have been nice if the platter was warmed and/or a hot plate was underneath as by the time we both got to the lobster tails and rice etc it was cold...it would be awesome for it to be served 'sizzling' hot.

Thank you for a wonderful night to remember.

Had a good experience eating seafood here. We had a few buck a shuk oysters, which we liked. I had the sablefish, which was something new to try and I enjoyed the miso flavour with the tender texture of the fish. My girlfriend had the seafood linguine, which was also pretty good. The portions were quite large, so I hit diminishing returns with the sablefish. Overall, I wouldn't regret trying this place out

It’s a wonderful dining experience. Yes it’s a touch on the pricey side but it makes up for the quality and freshness they provide.

From the moment the warm bread and creamy, high-quality butter hit the table, we knew we were in for a pleasant meal at Steveston Seafood House. Every dish that followed impressed us with its freshness and attention to detail. The Beef Carpaccio featured tender filet mignon, and the Appetizer Sampler was a great way to try a bit of everything—especially the bacon-wrapped scallops and calamari, both perfectly cooked and seasoned just right.

The highlight of the night? Definitely the $1 oysters—unbeatable freshness and value. If there’s one thing I’d wish for, it would be the option to choose the oyster variety to suit personal taste.

For mains, the oven-baked duck was a standout: tender, rich, and full of flavour.

On top of the great food, the service was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. All in all, a fantastic dining experience!
