Our server was Amanda. We made a reservation and we're seated in the centre of the pub. She initially served us our meals and drinks that as we always do, we moved into the pool room. Has he been having dinner and playing pool for the last 25 years at the buck Once in the pool room we never saw Amanda for over two hours. We tried to wave off other waiters and waitresses, but they ignored us. Finally, I went to the bar as a disabled person and asked for water. They said we can't give you water. You gotta do your get a hold of your server. Service was disgusting.
Everything about our dining experience was very satisfying. In particular, our server rememberedus and new what we ordered previously. I think that she has an eidetic memory.
It was a very busy night with a fundraiser going on but somehow they LOST my OpenTable reservation for a party of 8. Then they promised a table for us later on in the night which never happened, kind leaving us with limited tables in the arcade/pool room. The waitress assigned to the area ignored a few from my group Including myself the majority of the night... Spent the first couple hours harassing the bartender for our drinks. It was very busy, so I understand not being able to get to everyone However 2 hours in and I still couldn't get service so I could order food. I asked the bartended but was told to wait for my server. The one girl that came in addition to our group took it upon herself to order my food since she's seems to be getting endless service from the red haired server. I really had to get in her face to order my partners meal as well. I've worked in the same setting, with a band and fundraiser going on - not once did we forget to serve anyone in our areas no matter how busy it was every patron gets served and not forgotten about. And How do you lose an online reservation ? I was there all night with my party and had I actually received service I would have spent way more than what I had, but that's your loss... We used to come to the Buck all the time, no wonder the building owners want these guys out. Can't make money if they ignore paying customers. Red haired waitress only had one order for me for her whole shift and that was $35 for a steak sandwich and an undeserved tip to motivate better service... We were there 6:30pm to roughly 1am. The steak didn't get ordered until over 2 hours in to our visit and I basically had to put myself in front of her to even get her to talk to me. The food that was ordered for me was the beef dip. I used to like the beef dip here but it was extremely bland, bread pretty plain and gummy. Summary: They Lost my reservation and ignored me all night. Food mediocre and unappealing. Looks bad.
We were there on a Saturday and the Brunch menu is a must! Great value and delicious good! Thank you!
We honestly hated it. All 6 of us. Oh Hardly anyone was in the pub on a Saturday which should've been a sign right there. The waitress seemed like she didn't wanna be there. The food was awful and not worth the prices that were charged. Never going back.
3 of us had chicken strips/fries. The chicken was thin, dry and way over cooked and hard to chew. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was the best part. Our waitress was good and very friendly.
Have been to the buck many times. Quality and service has gone way down. Went for a birthday brunch. Had to send all of our food back. Cold and overdone This has happened last few visits. Either we had issues with the food or it was the service. Wont be back
we had friends in from out of town and thought this would be a safe restaurant given who owns them, boy was I wrong. The food was terrible, three of the four dishes we ordered had to be remade. The chicken strips were burnt, A steak sandwich was not good, the first time they forgot to even toast, the garlic bread, and the biggest problem was that we had someone in our party who couldn't have pork products on the burger they ordered so we asked them to remove the bacon when we ordered. They delivered it with bacon, we mentioned it to them and their initial solution was to take the bacon off the burger and deliver it right back to the table. I expected So much more from this restaurant, very disappointed. All I could do was apologize profusely to my out-of-town guests for how bad it was.
This was a great night out and enjoyed the Wednesday night jam a lot! We had fish and chips, tacos, and salads, which were all great. The service however was very slow and had to wait a very long time for our bill. Our empty dishes were never cleared away from our table after eating so we sat there with them for the remainder of the evening.
The food prices were high and although the food tasted good, I was still hungry after paying that much as the portion was small. I don't drink and I asked for water several times but didn't get any until the third ask each time. I watched her pour herself water though. My friends got their drinks promptly so I felt like because I didn't drink, I was not given the same level of service. I used to enjoy going here.

Great place to watch a hockey game with family and friends, have a visit with a neighbours. Food was ok, it's a pub, so salads are not so great, but burgers, beef dip, roasts are excellent
We went for the $6 breakfast special, the hash browns are delicious, the eggs were okay, you only get one piece of toast for two eggs, we would have preferred two slices. The Caesar cocktail special was very good and a great price at $5. I would try there breakfast special again, but I'm glad we didn't have to pay full price. Our server was very friendly, and quickly corrected a mistake with our order.
Friday prime rib is terrible. I've never had such a tough piece of prime rib in my 64 years. My husband got the 10 oz slow cook. It was definitely NOT slowed cooked. It was just as rubbery and hard to cut with the steak knife. Even the beans were rubbery. The women's washroom doors don't close. You have to hold them. We will never go back.
The service was extremely slow even though it was quite. Our server was just visiting other staff at the bar most of the time, it took so long to get our bill that our parking expired by 5min and we got a parking ticket that cost more then our meals.
My wife, a friend & myself had dinner at "The Buc" last Friday evening, and had a most enjoyable time. Everything about our visit was great, and we will certainly be returning, many times in the future. For icing on the cake (and my wife & I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert) we bought three $50 gift cards (for ourselves) which included 3 complimentary $10 coupons. |I would particularly like to give our thanks to Eden, our server. She was first class, all the way!!!
