A $500 omakase ends up costing even more after tax, and then they expect another 20% tip on top. The food was good, but honestly, it just didn’t feel worth it.

Hands down the best omakase in the Vancouver area. Food, ambiance, presentation, plating…best by far.

The overall dining experience was elegant and the quality of most dishes was excellent. However, my last piece of sushi contained multiple fish bones, which was quite unexpected at this price point (around CAD $300 per person). The chef did apologize, but there was no further gesture or compensation. While I respect the craftsmanship and atmosphere, I left feeling somewhat disappointed given the high standards usually associated with omakase dining.

I have visited this Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant before and enjoyed it even before they received the award. Recently, they called me to change my reservation time due to an issue with their oven. Although I started the conversation in English, the staff immediately switched to Mandarin without asking my language preference—simply because of my Chinese name on the booking. As a result, I was forced to rebook for another day since I had prepaid for the original reservation.

In a multicultural city like Vancouver, it’s important to respect customers’ language choices rather than assume based on their names. While this felt like a stereotypical assumption rather than outright discrimination, it made me feel uncomfortable.

I hope the restaurant improves its communication and respects the diversity of its clientele going forward.

Not worth the price for the food and experience. You can easily get the same quality and experience at a much cheaper omakase place

Ingredients were fresh and the way it was paired together by the chef was beyond the pallet. Service was 5 stars by both the chef and staff. Loved it.

Had lunch omakase yesterday, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The chef and staff were very friendly and talkative! I was delighted to try a new sake. I can confidently say this is the highest quality omakase I’ve had in Vancouver—better than the two Michelin-starred Japanese restaurants I’ve tried before. The only thing I think could be improved is that the flavors were a bit on the salty side. If they were a touch milder, it would better highlight the freshness of the ingredients. We also celebrated our anniversary here, and the staff were kind enough to take a photo for us.
