Sushi Mura Richmond

This place is a hot mess. Avoid. Everything is rushed except the wait to get in. Our drinks came out only when we had almost finished our dishes. First drink came, then we had to wait another 15 minutes for a cocktail. Dishes come out willy nilly in no order. The best dish was the potato croquettes which isn't saying much for their sushi. No live animals are allowed but children are, including one throwing food all over. The bathroom with one toilet was dirty.

Wait times are often very long, and unlike many other sushi places, they don’t take reservations nor is there an electronic wait list that texts you when you’re close. You can’t even call in to put your name on the list.
Other than that it’s a decent place, but the experience could be a 5/5 if they put more effort into the waiting experience.

The food overall is good but not excellent, fish cutting is too thick. Portion is quite big and reasonable price.

Good food, rude people working their, standing above your head to take empty plates, once you finished they will tell you to leave!!!!!!. Not recomended if you want to have a goog time and chat a bit with a freind or family member

Vancouver Japanese restaurant, food is new, I will go there every time I go to Vancouver.

Food was FANTASTIC. I honestly expected nothing less of the place and it met my every expectation food-wise.

The service was alright, they do a device ordering style. Which can be confusing for some people so watch out for that, my family personally found it easy to navigate so we didn't have much trouble with it.

The only big complaint I had was the wait time. It was a weekend, however we were told that we'd be seated after 15 minutes, when reality was that we waited for A NEAR HOUR.

Oh well.

Still would come again! 😛

I ate with my girlfriend last night around 8pm, we ordered fried calamari/wings, wild salmon and fried kimshi, The food is old and low quality, calamari is more like 70% flour 30% squid, the salmon was not even fresh it tasted like its been sitting there all day. Service/atmosphere was nice but We will never go back to that place again, i recommend to go to sushi mura oak st, it is far better than richmond.

Terrible experience. We had a bday dinner for our parent there. We were told only 10 mins for our table, then we start packing the food and ask for cake to bring out. Then this man walked up and said I told the other guy about 10 mins left. Then I asked him can I cut the cake (in a nice tone) He mentioned again time is there. Second time, I asked can I cut the cake. He said he told the gentlemen before there were 10 mins left. So I had to yell out the question if I can cut the cake. This guy just walked off and gave an ugly face! It’s a BIG party with 14 people! Takes time to do all these! 1.5 hours expects a big party to end on time! Afterwards the waiter just stared at me for the whole time, eye to eye. We were all rushing to get the cake cut! Manage to sing and do all that in a rush! What a great way and great service to celebrate a birthday! Worst time of all!

If you plan to eat here, come about 40 minutes earlier because that's how long we waited for a table for 4. Don't worry though, the wait was much worth it.

Each piece of sushi was absolutely delicious and bursting out with flavour. The mayo and mysterious sauce combo slathered on everything made the dishes so rich and appetizing. The sashimi is fresh and not fishy. No bad smell or taste. Although a lot of the sushi was spicy. They had free candy as well.

Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options. Not easy for a sushi restaurant!!

Parking: A parking lot to the left of the restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: Very friendly, waitresses playing with kids next to our table!!

Wheelchair accessibility: Not a lot of space but will fit.

Ordered two different kinds of udon, very salty! Too salty to eat!
The background music is too loud! It was really noisy, I almost went deaf when I went to the bathroom!

We placed a $500 order from Sushi Mura and kindly requested a small box of dry ice, but they refused to provide any. They only included three pairs of chopsticks with such a large order, and when we asked for more, they reluctantly gave us just a few additional pairs. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience—definitely NOT recommended!

I am really disappointed at the service for this time. i have ordered for company events for several times here and everything was fine. But this time it's SUPER UNSATISFYING. We ordered almost $500 food and there were only 3 pairs of chopsticks prepared. When i asked for more chopsticks, the lady gave me 3 more. I don't understand. Like you would expect only 6 ppl for these whole bunch of food？

The food is good but the service here is nonexistent and horrible, the restaurant wasn’t even busy when I came and so many servers were working. None of them checked in on us or refilled our beverages and this is coming from someone that works in the hospitality industry so I get it if theyre busy but it was dead

This is a cheap and good restaurant, and the average meal per person is around 20 which is pretty good. The tuna was sliced ​​thickly and was very satisfying to eat. The fried chicken is especially recommended, it has a crunchy texture and is delicious.
