Unbeatable value. I ordered a set menu meal for 4, and it ended up being cheaper per person than a fast food joint. I ended up taking the leftovers home and it took several days to finish everything. The food is unapologetic Sichuanese home cooking, spicy and delicious. Nothing fancy, nor it needs to be. I especially enjoyed the cumin lamb and the spicy braised fish. The decor of the restaurant is ancient and the bathroom is small and dimly lit, but that could all be forgiven considering the price and quality of the food. Be aware that this restaurant only accepts cash or e-transfer. They do not accept Visa nor MasterCard.

Worst experience in years. Ordered some food via delivery, one of the containers(regular size) was only 1/3 full on arrival. I thought there might be some spill on the trip to my place. But when I tried to confirm with the owner, they switched to defence mode instantly. They insisted that reduced amount was from the oil and pepper being removed, to meet the requirements from delivery platform. I dined in before and the same dish could feed two people easily(CAD33+). They mentioned that every takeout was weighed. But when I asked how many grams my order should be, they dodged the question and mentioned that the weightage contained other ingredients etc. I smell dishonesty there. Who knows the true reason why they wanted to remove the oil and peppers from takeout and delivery.
The other dish tastes awfully bland, which was the type of experience I would expect least from a Seschuan restaurant.

If you like chilly, mala flavour and good service this is the place. Service was pretty fast and server explained us what they were and the spice level. Payment is in cash. Tan tan noodle (peanut based sauce), spicy Shrimp hot pot with vegetables and cold spicy meat dish were pretty good.

If you like numbing, flavorful and spicy Asian dishes, this is your restaurant.
Order veg pancake, sliced lamb with cumin, sliced pork, fish and tofu ( really good). The thinly sliced tensions was also very good.
Diced deep fried ckn is also good but they included all the bones n there were Small, sharp pieces of ckn bones all mixed in. Not too smart but the dish was good - spicy and salty.

Shame of the server here! Forcing to get the tips - really !!!!! Spoiled our whole family’s mood. If you want money that bad please earn it not forcing in an intimated look.
The food taste is really good and I am being a regular customer - I had already stopped going to this restaurant but I ordering the food so that I don’t experience this - but the server who demands the tips no less than 10 dollars is awful. The tips are an option and we are not legally obligated to give you. We are getting paid for what we are working not forcing anyone for tips.
Again the food is great and love their taste - Chef is really good but server or the own who stands in the counter every time is very rude.
It is a mandarin only establishment. I was speaking Cantonese and English to the lady and was refused service.

The tofu pudding fish I ordered for takeout was so fishy that I couldn’t eat it in one bite.

Food is good but forced tip of 10 percent when not written anywhere
Last night had a 👅 tongue numbing dinner at 一品川菜 at your typical Richmond establishment, cash only and medicore service. Their dishes had just enough pungency and spiciness from the liberal use of bold and flavorful chili peppers.
You can taste salty, sour, sweet, bitter, smoky, etc... nothing fancy here and don't expect much except yummy food

Owner of Yipin Sichuan Cuisine, your food is indeed delicious. But I hope you can use less salt in the future. Ate here many times. The only obvious taste is too much salt. Covers up the flavor and aroma of ingredients, spices and chilies. If there is less salt, especially the saliva chicken, I hope that salt can be used as an auxiliary ingredient to highlight the aroma of chili and other ingredients.
