Great tasting sushi.

Ordered 12 rolls today and received no wasabi and no ginger. Things that have changed/ need improvement since new location opened: the nori, under seasoned rice. Also found a small bone in my negitoro.

I have gotten food from Takeya before and usually the food is pretty good and ther service is great. However, I went there yesterday and got the pickled ginger and mini BBQ Don, and I had a bad bout of food poisoning shortly after 🤢. Not sure how fresh their food is or if they are following food safety protocol like they should

Stay Cool

Portions were very small for the price. Gyoza was very obviously frozen.

Very friendly staff and helpful. Excellent and large selection of Japanese foods. There are teriyaki and other bowls, sushi slices, sushi rolls, bento boxes of various types. Both snack size and full sized meals. There is even a selection of frozen items in their freezer on the side. This is takeout only, as there is no seating.

Our absolutely favorite take out sushi place. Actually, all their food is top notch in a sense that it gives us the same feeling as Tokyo… Nigiri is exactly the same as we get from FamilyMart or 711 from Tokyo. Even putting fridge, after taking out, it’s still so good.

It tasted pretty good. The prices were great and the food was tasty. I got thr spicy chicken don. It was good, but not spicy. The only issue I had was that I found a long black hair in my chicken, and it's not mine. But that's it, would recommend this place to friends and family.

I've come here on many occasions, always trying new things as well as getting my usual, ikura onigiri. Takeya never disappoints!

Love coming here for a quick bite or something to take home to eat later in the day. Lots of ready made options such as bentos and onigiri’s. I recommend the ebi mayo onigiri, always my favourite and the poke for $14(really good value).

The food here has always been pretty good but prices have gone up steadily and the portions are getting too damn small. The spicy tuna roll used to have an excellent amount of tuna in it for $9.45, now it's a fraction of the tuna. You can do better. The bluefin tuna roll has also gotten skimpier and more takuan inserted instead. The service here is still fantastic. Just very disappointed in the portion size. I am not looking for massive rolls from unauthentic places. Just don't want to be skimped on by an authentic place. Step it up brothers, I'm rooting for you.

Last night, my kids and I ordered a reasonable amount of sushi. The rolls were fine however, the cones were very disappointing and generally filled with rice and very little substance. Takeya was fantastic in the past but selling rice rolls and a tiny filling is unacceptable!

What happened to this place!? Ordered old favourite on line, teriyaki chicken bowl. Just awful. Dry. No where on order form to even ask for more teriyaki sauce. Mostly just dry rice, no sauce. Looks like pre made fast food and not fresh to order like the rest of the restaurant now is. Only go there if you want McDonald’s-like fast food sushi. What a disappointment for what I paid for this meal.
