Our server was Amanda. We made a reservation and we're seated in the centre of the pub. She initially served us our meals and drinks that as we always do, we moved into the pool room. Has he been having dinner and playing pool for the last 25 years at the buck Once in the pool room we never saw Amanda for over two hours. We tried to wave off other waiters and waitresses, but they ignored us. Finally, I went to the bar as a disabled person and asked for water. They said we can't give you water. You gotta do your get a hold of your server. Service was disgusting.

Everything about our dining experience was very satisfying. In particular, our server rememberedus and new what we ordered previously. I think that she has an eidetic memory.

I had a terrible experience with my food order. I ordered online because I was working and wanted to have the food ready when I arrived. However, when I got my order, it was wrong—it had beef in it, which I don’t eat. When I pointed this out, the staff first claimed they hadn’t prepared the order, and then later said someone else had taken it and that I would need to wait another 5-7 minutes. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes, and the woman’s behavior was extremely rude. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had, and the customer service was appalling.

Food not great, not great at all. Frozen cheap chicken drenched in flavorless sauce. Ignored by server in a passive aggressive way. Atmosphere was nothing like the small fishing village Steveston is, crowd was similar to a Boston pizza on a Tuesday night. Pricing was crazy for what you got but the cheap flat beer was the highlight! Taps had not been changed in months by the taste!

The Buck & Ear is a bit of a mixed experience. The food was decent, though nothing extraordinary—just reliable pub fare. Service was fine, though it felt a bit rushed and not as attentive as I’d hoped. The atmosphere is where The Buck & Ear shines, with its rustic charm and character-filled decor. It’s a classic spot that many locals have grown attached to over the years, and it does give a sense of nostalgia and tradition.

However, it seems this familiar hangout will soon be going through significant changes. I was informed that The Buck & Ear will be closing shortly and transitioning into a hotel, expanding the room availability for the Steveston Hotel next door. While it’s sad to see a local landmark like this go, the change could bring more lodging options for visitors looking to stay in the Steveston area.

For now, if you’re looking to experience a slice of Steveston history, you might want to drop by while it’s still around. It’s not the place to go if you’re looking for a fancy dining experience, but if you’re here for the vibe and community feel, it still delivers in its own way.

Great pub location in the heart of Steveston, home to the OUAT franchise. Excellent food and proximity to townsite and wharfs make this worth a try

If you are looking for a Hearty economical and delicious breakfast in Steveston, look no further.

This place needs to change back to the old Buck. Prices of drinks are way too expensive. My husband and I had 2 drinks and our friend had 1. Our bill was almost $95. What in the actual......

Loved the look of the place, waited 15 minutes to be handed a menu, the waitress took our orders, and we waited another 20 for the food, we were not asked if we needed anything, then when we were ready to leave waited another 10 for the bill, poor service, but on the plus the food was good.

Food was not bad, it’s what you would expect from a pub. But probably better than what I was expecting, it took a bit for the food to be cooked though even though it was pretty empty when we went.

Food here is great. Service is trash. Some of the people employed here are absolute goofs, especially that bald headed guy at the bar. I called the restaurant non-stop for 20+ minutes trying to order takeout for my pregnant wife who has late night cravings, no answer, so I drive 20 mins to the place only to be told their kitchen is closed 5 mins past 21:30 and the bald headed guy basically just shrugging saying he didn’t “hear” the phone. Why have phones then? Just disconnect the damn thing. It’s a Wednesday night, you’re not busy, there were maybe 15-20 people in the place at most lol.

Waste of time. Waste of gas. What a disappointment. Hire some competent people or who cares if you have good food.

I placed an order via Uber and this restaurant delayed the order 3 times. When I cancel they charge me a fee and when I called the restaurant to see pickup options if available and though googled showed it was open. They’re didn’t answer the call.

Always the best of times here...I heard they will be going away in the near future, that's a real shame and loss to the Steveston community....

The last time we went the burger was great. But the fish n chips was lacking. They didn’t drain the fish well. So it was a bit soggy. Previous to this, it was excellent!
