The quantity is not a plenty for 25$.
The sauce was amazing. Spicy, tangy and flavourful all at once.

For years, this has been my go to for seafood boil. Can’t miss with the shrimp and mussels with extra sauce!

I had a bad experience when my family and my friend's family got inside we asked to sit inside but the guy attending us said the tables were reserved, so we asked him for all eight tables. And he said yes which was strange as we got there at 6:30 pm so how come almost all tables inside were reserved and the outer space was also empty with just 2 hours to closing? I was there with 4 kids and my friend was with her 3 kids. He gave us a small table but we asked another waiter to give us a little table to add when the food came as we had no space. The third waiter brought 2 dirty plastic jugs of water and I turned around and saw everyone else had clear-looking jugs. I asked why ours was dirty looking and he claimed it was cos it was old and he should change it instead he brought 2other dirty jugs. They rushed out when getting our menu and he tried to yank the menu from my hand until I let him know I needed to see it more. Both family menus were mixed up and I called for them to separate them instead he was still worried about taking his menu away. Mind you 49 minutes had passed till the other side was still empty, and every guest that came in twos or threes without reservations was taken there. When we asked for extra water he used his dirty gloves to get water from the tap while there were a lot of filled clean jugs with ice cubes on the waiters' table. Time to pay and leave they kept standing while he waited for 3men to chat while they watched standing for 5mins. He brought our bill and my friend noticed it was extra we asked while he added a 15% tip without letting us know and almost made me tap my card for another tip, I told him we had a terrible time and service, and he claimed it was a must as it's on their menu when you are more than 6 in a group, I told him we have 2 separate bills in 2 groups of 5 and 4 so we won't pay 15%, also they were very racist to us and unkind unlike the other locations (Kingsway) which were nice. The main guy didn't care and we asked for a new bill. Till they closed at 9 pm no one used the spot they claimed was reserved.

Good food, great service. Awesome spot for seafood—definitely worth a visit!

I think it is very telling when children demolish their food!

❗️My wife and I eat around 6:40 PM. While we were almost finished with our food, my wife noticed a blue rubber band on the top of her rice and she nearly ate that!!.. I immediately called over the server, and then the supervisor. When the supervisor spoke to me, he didn’t apologize at first; we didn't even finish the food because of that it's FOOD SAFETY! We still paid for everything but not the rice. ❗️ Date: May 23, 2025.FOR YOUR AWARENESS❗️

I tried this location on a business trip and it was great. Service was friendly and quick. The server came to check in on me a couple of times to see if everything was as good.

The best seafood we’ve had in the past five years! We’ve been ordering from here regularly and the quality has never disappointed. Always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. A must-try for seafood lovers!

Great restaurant, just not very consistent, sometime salty sometime good

Very disappointed in the quality of the seafood. Shrimp was not fresh and had a lot of black stuff inside. The sauce was unflavorful. We came during non-lunch hours, maybe they don't care about the food quality.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to captains boil. COVID really delayed things and never got around to it. So we started having an itch for Cajun seafood and settled this place. We were pleasantly surprised. The first thing is that the food was super hot and fresh. That’s definitely a plus. The Captains boil seasoning is excellent. Has some kick, but not overwhelming in terms of heat ( medium spice). The sides (fries and seafood fried rice) were excelled. Considering this restaurant is not known for rice dishes, we we definitely enjoyed it.

The seafood, especially the shrimp, was so deliciously. I settled on the headless shrimp cause I can’t stand shrimp eyes looking at me, while I eat.

The service was good. Staff were attentive and made the experience highly welcoming. The dining room is a bit congested and the washrooms could use a renovation.

However, the food makes up for it. I would definitely recommend this location.

Was absolutely disappointed with the entire experience. Did research and thought this captain boil was going to be somewhat decent. Service was very minimal, did not check up on us once besides basic service. Atmosphere was decent and overall a good vibe. But the seafood is where everything went wrong, we ordered the sailor combo, which included a lb of shrimp, seafood fried rice and fries, price of 40$ wasn’t that bad and they advertise everything as sold by market price, so you assume the seafood is somewhat fresh but the shrimp was mushy, heavily seasoned and clearly frozen… for a very long time. Both me and my girlfriend felt really sick after getting home and she was throwing up. Would not recommend unless you want to risk your personal health

Ordered the Dungeness crab seafood boil with the Captain’s boil Flavour which is considered top notch. I agree as the Cajun spice which was chosen for the fish teriyaki sizzling plate was overly garlicky with an overpowering metallic taste. When combined as leftovers, it was much better. The fish teriyaki was amazing! I recommend that, very flavorful. The service was great as were the options. Remember the food comes in large portions best suited to sharing between two or more people. Not cheap but a good option in the Vancouver area. Parking is hellish in the Union Square Shopping Centre. Be prepared for some smart maneuvering to get a spot.
