My spouse and I experienced severe food poisoning symptoms after dining at FishMan last night. We only consumed 4 Beach oysters and a grilled lingcod with 2 rices, as it was our only meal of the day. My wife had one oyster, while I had three.Upon contacting the restaurant, they assured us that all their oysters were fresh and that they had not received any other reports of food poisoning. They offered a complimentary beach oyster on our next visit, but I emphasized that our intention was to raise awareness rather than seek compensation at that time.I hope that the restaurant takes steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Fishman to me sits somewhere between a 3 and 4. In all honesty, it's biggest fault is its service. While the server we had was polite and funny, every time we place an order for something else, whatever side it came with didn't arrive. We'd ask to get it, someone would nod, go get another table something, then stand there watching the room. I'd go grab another server, same thing. It's as if they didn't understand my dialect.When the food did come out though it was very good. The only thing we weren't super happy with was the chicken knees. You know....I thought they'd be exactly as they were, but somehow I hoped for something different and they were not.Getting the whole fish for the table is a must and very delicious. Although I wasn't sure what an "idiot fish" was.My highlight dish was the deep fried crispy prawns. You can eat them whole and they had a very Szechuan style seasoning to them. Delicious.I'd go back again with friends for sure.Parking: Behind the building.

The ingredients are fresh and delicious as always. Every time I come to Vancouver, I must come to The Fish Man to eat seafood. What I like most is that they don’t use too many or too heavy seasonings. You can always taste the original taste of the ingredients. What’s even more special is the Chef Both the supervisor and Lisa will always pay attention to the taste of the guests on site. It is a rare good restaurant. No wonder it is packed with guests every day. Be sure to make a reservation when you go ?

After eating, all my friends had stomachaches. What the hell? ! The clams obviously smelled bad, so I reported it to the manager and ignored it. Because I didn't pay for it, I didn't care at the time. Unexpectedly, I started getting upset halfway through. After reading the previous reviews, many customers had diarrhea. Why is this kind of restaurant still open? It should be closed down soon! After returning home, all my three friends got Diarrhea. I think the food is not clean or fresh. Three people we paid 200 ca dollars. Over priced. Will not return or recommend. I want to give it zero star.

I can see why this place is so popular. The seafood selection is huge. Had a beautiful meal of sea urchin and stir fried Manila clams. Will try the king crab next time!

SCAM ALERT. Don’t come for the king crab “special” it’s a scam. They showed us a 7lb crab… we were a party of 4 and we don’t eat much… what we got was one small steamed dish. I have a picture of the live crab that was supposedly ours. Has 10 legs. What we got was 6 pieces of the bigger legs and a few small ones. Not resemblance of the “before” picture. King crab SCAM. Also the fried rice in crab shell had imitation crab and no real crab meat. What happened to the rest of “my” 7lb crab? Avoid this place if you’re looking for king crab - I dine everywhere and I know.
