A well established Chinese restaurant in Richmond, the food here is amazing because they’ve been cooking it for years! The decor may be a bit dated but it has the feel of a classic sit-down family style restaurant. It is almost always packed at meal time, so it’s a bit louder and you shouldn’t expect VIP service but that’s very much expected (and part of the experience!) Highly recommend making reservations!

The food came out very quickly and was seriously delicious. The truffle chicken was full of flavour (to the point we got a second serving). Fried dumplings were hot, well cooked and tasty. The pork was juicy and fell apart effortlessly. The kelp dish (forget the name) was a surprising hit! All told, would definitely go back again and would definitely recommend!

I was craving dumplings so decided to try the pork soup dumplings. With the chilli oil I was given, I can confidently say these were the best soup dumplings I’ve ever had! The customer service was 10/10. I wish I would’ve gotten the gentleman’s name that helped me. He was so patient and helpful with me. Will be coming back!

The four of us went to dinner, and there were not many people at the table. We ordered five dishes, and four of them came intermittently. The last one, the moss fish, was delayed. After urging three or four times, I finally saw a pot coming out of the kitchen, but I was overjoyed. Told us it was for takeout. After waiting another 15 minutes, our fish arrived. Everyone's appetite was gone. Packed without eating. What's even more ironic is that no one came to pick up the takeaway portion. The staff at this store are clueless and lack service quality. They only know how to evade taxes by asking for cash from customers. I only share my personal experience with you!

A Shanghai-style restaurant that offers a variety of Shanghai dishes, noodle soups and snacks. Ordered the fried noodle soup and smoked fish noodle. The fried noodle was a bit tough on the skin and filled with meat filling soup (be careful as it is hot and greasy).

Parking: Parking may be difficult during holidays and busy times.

Step on thunder! Step on thunder! Step on thunder! Say important things three times! Horrible food, poor service! I originally went to eat ma-liu but there were no seats available so I chose this restaurant nearby! As soon as I walked in, I was urged to order, only to find out later that it was about to close! If you want to close the door, you can choose not to accept customers! Originally, I ordered a stew dish and the waiter told me that it would take a long time and asked me to change it because they were closing! Finally, I ordered boiled fish, fat pot pork, xiaolongbao and fried rice with scallops! As a Sichuanese, this is really the most unpalatable fat pot pork I have ever eaten in my life. I can’t eat it at all. Even the ones I stir-fry with my feet taste better than those in this restaurant! The fried rice is also very oily! Boiled fish is also unpalatable! The buns are still hard! As soon as the food is served, we give you money! It’s the first time I’ve seen such a weird store! This is not how you drive people away. You can choose not to pick up customers! There is no amex charge for credit cards, and there is an extra 2% charge for credit cards. I just skip the tip! The cashier immediately said that I must leave a tip. I said that you kept urging me and there was no service, so I didn’t want to tip! He also asked me to give 5 yuan in cash! Forget it, take 5 yuan to buy medicine! Really only Richmond has such a weird store! The mood of the whole day was ruined by this store! Wish you closure soon!

Traveling to Vancouver from California, I was about to leave before I remembered that I had never eaten at a Shanghainese restaurant, so I found this one which was relatively close to where I lived. This restaurant also has mixed reviews online, but after eating it I can responsibly say that the taste is amazing, and there are many customers at noon, so the quality is guaranteed. I ordered pork trotters, Ningbo crispy eel, Fujian fried rice, and leek box. His chive box actually contains meat, which means it is definitely homemade. Ordinary chive boxes bought from outside will not be willing to put meat in it. The pork trotters are made similar to German roasted pork trotters. They are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The portion is huge and the price is much cheaper than in California. I couldn't finish it even if I tried hard. But my favorite is the crispy eel. This is the first time I have eaten it. The method is to coat the fried eel with a layer of sweet sauce. It is crispy and delicious, and the sauce does not make the eel taste bad at all. It's so soft that you can't stop eating it. Finally, the Fujian fried rice was also a great surprise. When I was a kid, I loved eating Fujian fried rice in small restaurants at home. Unfortunately, when I grew up and went abroad, I didn’t see many people making it. In addition to the huge portion, the Fujian fried rice in this restaurant is also full of ingredients. The egg fried rice is covered with seafood, meat, vegetables and other ingredients. It is conceivable that the taste is definitely not bad. If you have never tried it before, you must try it. Once!

Food was good, service was ok. Get there at 3pm, we were the only customers in the restaurant. After finished our lunch wanted to order foods to take home, but the waitress wasn't happy to take any more order and told us have to wait 20 minutes. They charged $2 for 2 food containers and $.50 for a bag, added 15% Tips and 3% for Credit Card Fee.

I will never come back to this restaurant.
Poor service and food is not fresh!
When I ordered a side of roasted gluten(烤麩)which already had a sour taste, I told the waitress and she just replied coldly, "Is that so? No way! Then she took it away, and no one from the restaurant ever came to say anything or apologize!
At the checkout, she even asked me to pay for the dish. When I told her the reason and refused to pay, she coldly took away the money for the dish without any apology!
If the owner of this restaurant continues to condone this kind of service and disregard for the quality and safety of the food, we won't be coming back, and I'll be telling my friends not to come to this restaurant and spend their money to get angry, and they might be eating unfresh food!

we ate here yesterday and ordered crispy duck. It was so over fried and tasted so bad! we talked to the server and they only agreed to give us a discount on the dish instead of returning it. We could not eat it. The restaurant itself is dilapidated we regret so much eating here.

Food was good. Restaurant was packed and was fast paced. Would recommended making a reservation before coming. Menu is big, but dishes tasted good and reasonably priced.

I ordered several snacks for breakfast, which was generally good. Pan-fried buns, fresh meat glutinous rice balls, glutinous rice cakes are all delicious, and Xiao Long Bao is also good. The only regret is that the simplest fried dough sticks are not as fluffy as fried dough sticks. Although they are big, they are more like fried dough cakes; the curry beef vermicelli The soup does not have the flavor of curry like that found in Shanghai halal restaurants, and the beef is not curry-flavored. It should be made with five spices. It is very salty, and there are so many vermicelli that there is almost no soup. The soup does not have the flavor of traditional Shanghai curry. The above two things need to be improved.

This is the worst Shanghaiese restaurant. The food is bad, the soup dumpling (Xiao Long Bao) has a bad pork taste, the fish is very fishy doesn't taste fresh at all. The waitress are rude. We order a fresh crab, they did not even let is know the weigh of the crab.

The restaurant is dirty, bad service, and with bad tasting food. Why people would go there?

I have never been to a restaurant that bad. Both the xiaolongbao and the fish are smelly. The people working there are very rude. If you ask them something, they can ask you back. I just asked whether the fish was fresh or dead. They can say, look at the price, do you think it is fresh? I didn't know, I didn't even look at the price. Why do people still go to a restaurant with such bad taste and bad service?

There's nothing to eat

Food is quite good. Terrible service and terrible atmosphere. There is no waiting area. I have a high tolerance but be warned, we got the table right in front of the door....it was really nice feeling everyone's body heat as I was getting a little cold from the door opening and closing during the meal. Low cost and effective way to separate the dining and waiting area. They are not called Top Shanghai Cuisine for nothing.
