Passable food. The wonton noodle soup with brisket and the lo mein brisket noodles are way too sweet. The broth isn’t that flavorful. The egg rice dish and pork chop combo were good though. If you need a fix for wonton noodles I guess it’ll do, but not my go to.
2025.08.05 Came here on a mission to find out how good their wonton is. Ordered under noodle soup 1. Wonton & Shui Kau, Combo A Scallion Oil Pork Chop Rice with hot drink, Chinese Broccoli with Garlic Oil.
The pork chop was rather bland, the scallion oil makes it tasty but there was very little of that. The Chinese broccoli with garlic oil was rather mild tasting, having it with oyster sauce would have tasted better. It also was the most expensive dish at CAD 23.50. Ask how much before ordering.
The Wonton & Shui Kau was really good tasting at CAD 14.95, flavorful broth, wonton, Shui Kau, rich in flavor, texture, taste. The dining area were old tables and chairs with air conditioning. Payment is cash or Canadian debit card.

#5 the beef brisket and shui kai is highly recommended. Brisket is super flavourful and shui kai (kind of like a wonton) is juicy. Service was great! Atmosphere is the typical local Chinese small dine in restaurant. Second time here and can say food was consistent.

Went to have lunch on an early weekday afternoon and also bought some take-outs.
It wasn't busy however the parking lot was almost full.
Tried their Beef Tendons with noodles dish, Soya Beef Fried Noodles; ordered Beef & Veggies Chow Mein for take-out.
All of the dishes tasted okay but not super delicious. Beef Tendons were good but the noodles had an overly alkaline taste which I personally did not like it.
Service was attentive.
Overall restaurant atmosphere was clean and tidy.

I lucked out on parking out front on a late Sunday afternoon around 1pm.
When I walked into the joint it was dead and I got a seat right away. I've read alot of other posts here that the beef brisket is a hit or miss. I decided to take a risk and order the brisket and wonton egg noodle soup. The Thai fried rice sounded interesting so I ordered that too.
Service is alright, not the best, not the worst. The Thai fried rice was ok. Nothing made it Thai but chilies haha. Still, it's enjoyable. Goulesters on cambie has a way better Thai fried rice. The beef brisket and wonton egg noodle soup is DELICIOUS. My experience with this dish is pleasant. They had some bbq satay oil sauce on the side that gave it an extra layer of flavor.
I must say... Their in house wonton dumplings are pretty good. I would definitely come back again and try out other items on the menu.
Btw there are two prices for the beef and wonton egg noodle soup. The more expensive price comes with a drink of your choice.

Close to the hood
(See below for why 5/5 even though 4/5 for food!)
Food is great, served hot and fast. The wontons and noodles are done well. I’ve also come back a few times for deep fried appetizers which are tasty. All in all, it is great for what it is.
Service is fast and efficient, which may come off as unfriendly for some but it’s only because they want to get your food to you as quickly as possible! I ordered a regular wonton mixed noodle which they delivered on. I was shocked and surprised when the owners decided to give me an extra dumpling and bowl of soup a few minutes later free of charge! That really put it over the top for me.
Atmosphere is excellent. There is the hum of the Cantonese news playing on the TV in the background.
Eat here maybe twice a year since the 2000s and always get a wonton noodle soup for a comforting meal with a good amount of meat.
You can still change the noodle type if you ask, but I always stick to the default. And they also sell their chili oil in jars.

Food is ok here. The rice dish with smooth egg and BBQ pork tastes fairly good. The others are just ok.
Parking is limited as there are a number of restaurants in this small mall. So best to eat earlier to avoid the rush.
we ordered a few noodle dishes - beef chow fun, won ton shui gow, seafood mee fun and pork liver with vegetables. The 3 of us agreed that the beef chow fun dish stood out as the tastiest. Other dishes were average.
- our server provided excellent service and brought us tea often.
- not a busy place. Place was clean
This place is one of the ideal restaurants for Chinese comfort food - a nice bowl of hot noodles! Their beef brisket and tendon thick noodles are my go-to.
Free parking
Good n friendly service
Bathroom is relatively clean
Soup broth is good but not the traditional wonton soup broth with 大地魚 dried fish bone based. It is still a good bowl of wonton noodle. Portion is bigger than the competitors. Value wise, Tsim Chai won.
One of my favorite go to place for Cantonese style noodles!
The wonton is probably the size of a golf ball 😂 and has large chunks of prawns in it.
The beef brisket and tendon noodles soup with those wontons are my top picks here.
The chicken wings will always be my order as well as the fried tofu.
