Normally LOVE my drinks from here, but unfortunately this time the matcha was not sifted/whisked enough and a bit too much milk :/

Quaint little matcha spot, I enjoyed the matcha soft serve. The matcha used in making the ice cream, latte, and cake tasted very rich and strong. You can taste the quality matcha used.

They have the best matcha ice cream product in Canada. We always get in when we see one. Very potent matcha flavor.

The Matcha Float is just so good! Must try.

Wish the size was bigger for the price though…

Tsujiri - Central at Garden City, Richmond

I recently visited Tsujiri, a popular destination for matcha lovers, and I highly recommend it!

The Shiratama parfait was a standout - I absolutely loved it. The place itself was delightful, with a pleasant atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying their delicious treats.

We came here for the afternoon tea set and our entire party left unimpressed.

The food: We came here during lunch and was expecting to have more savory items. The only savory items in our set were 2 small onigiris (which were the best part of the meal). There was some small salad on a spoon which has zero dressing, just a couple pieces of soggy lettuce and tomato which you can tell was old and brown. The rest of the set was sweets, which honestly tasted just okay. They also served a piece of banana with a strawberry on top?… nothing special and honestly just low budget ingredients. We also didn’t get to chose any tea. Just basic green tea from a tea bag.

The service: The worst part of our experience. The service was non existent. From the moment we walked in, we were told where to sit, and for 20 minutes nobody came by. We weren’t sure whether we were supposed to order, or if the food was being prepared, or if they even knew we even existed. After the food and drinks came, nobody came to check up on us during the entire service. We even had to walk to the front counter multiple times to ask for to-go boxes and the bill. Overall very poor service. It’s Chinese run but they pretend to be a Japanese establishment.

The atmosphere: We made reservations for the tatami room. It was small but a nice atmosphere to sit in. It is a separate section away from the front counter, so don’t expect any of the servers to see you or even come in to check up on your. Nothing super exciting to rave about.

Overall we were disappointed in the food and service. I would not recommend this place.

$90 for 2 people high tea set is overpriced! Not many matcha items. A couple of strawberries on top of bananas standing-up?!? 2 tiny plain mochi balls covered in syrup in a mini bowl; tasteless lettuce leaf scraps,1/2 cherry tomato, jelly square on a porcelain spoon; before @$70 it was maybe more passable. NOT recommended!

the o matcha latte came watery, with chunks of matcha powder at the bottom. was definitely not whisked properly. I could make a culinary grade matcha latte at home better than this. For almost 9 dollars, I am disappointed. the ice cream was delicious. Sizes are a bit frugal for the price.

Okay food but bad customer service.
We ordered ice cream and we asked for a spoon, the girl behind the counter just pointed at the tray by the cashier telling me to get it myself.

Update: April 3rd at 19:45.

Went for high tea at Tsujiri. Food was good, service minimal. We were sat right in front of the ordering counter which wasn't the most comfortable for high tea. A whole, plain banana was included in the high tea setting which was disappointing considering it's one of the most cheap/bland fruits there is. It would have been different if it was made into a dessert. Was overall ok experience, but would not go out of my way to visit again.

Tsujiri in Richmond is a must-visit for matcha lovers and Japanese snack enthusiasts. Their brown sugar parfait is absolutely delightful, with rich, creamy layers perfectly complemented by the deep caramel notes of brown sugar. The matcha float is refreshing and expertly balanced, showcasing the authentic, earthy bitterness of high-quality matcha. Their salmon onigiri is a tasty and satisfying snack, with fresh, flavorful ingredients wrapped in perfectly seasoned rice. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Whether you’re craving a sweet treat or a light bite, Tsujiri offers an authentic and delicious experience. Highly recommended!

Macha latte is nice.

First time trying the Matcha Parfait, it was definitely a delight treat!!! The perfect balance between the earthy richness of matcha and smoothness of creamy texture. The matcha itself was fresh, not so bitter. There were a few small chunks of sweetened red bean paste, which complemented the matcha perfectly!!!!

The mochi were soft and flavourful itself.

I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves matcha or is looking for a refreshing yet indulgent treat.
