I was really disappointed with the tea set here as the environment was infested with fruit flies. The food itself was great - good portions and nice variety of options. The service was what you expect as well. But the amount of fruit flies that were flying around us ruined the whole experience. I had to switch my green tea tart and yuzu dashi because fruit flies kept crawling and getting stuck on in. A few flies also drowned in my tea or landed on other food items. My friend who was eating with me also got a few fruit flies stuck on her forehead?. Please swipe to see a collage of bug pics I took, but that was only 10% of the bugs around us?! I won’t be returning until they deal with the fruit fly issue! ?

We visited for their afternoon tea which consists of tea, soup, 3 savory items and 6 mini sweets with a soft serve ice cream. For those who have less of a sweet tooth, the sweet versus savoury ratio was higher though the mini sweets themselves were not overly sweet. The soup was delicious to start, our favourites were the matcha pudding, chestnut hojicha Mont blanc and hojicha soft serve. The matcha pudding was flavourful, but the matcha fell a bit bland in the Mont blanc.Things we liked:The cost and value of the set is great. Servers are friendly and checked up on our hot water refill periodically. Atmosphere was relaxing and scenic in divided tatami area, it was very comfortable to chat and enjoy the food there. The hojicha is good quality and I ordered a Kabusecha separately which I would recommend for tea drinkers. This green tea is light but packed with complex flavours at the same time. It's smooth and has a subtle sweetness to it that reminds us of our beloved yuzu green tea blend at Nikaido.Things we thought needed work:Although the environment was well designed, the upkeep needed some work as there were an abundance of fruit flies that came with the food and lurked around. We notified the servers and they were quick to change a few pieces the flies were stubbornly attached to but this could be quite unappetizing. We would come back for their savory items and some of the sweets to enjoy over a relaxing cup of tea. The tatami area was really worth it.

There are so many mixed reviews on this place. There wasn't much staff present when we got there for our reservation. We poked our head around and saw our friends had been seated already. We did the high tea and the food came out quickly. Food was good. More sweet items than savory. I enjoyed the selection they had. They let us sit and chat and only told us there was another reservation 15 minutes before. So we did not feel rushed at all. I would do high tea here again!

We booked the tatami room which had a beautiful atmosphere and we really loved the pit for our feet under the table. The staff were very accommodating of my nut allergies and provided me with really tasty substitutions. We will definitely be coming back here again :)

We went so many time this cafe! drink is good and match Cheesecake also super good. And we enjoyed several times high-tea.At first, the quality of the food was good, but I could feel that the quality of the food was getting worse. This part is a little disappointing, but other than that, it‘s satisfying

Matcha is always great here. Got the yuzu cheesecake, which was very light and tasty. Parfaits are the go-to here! Quality of toppings could be better (mochi was hard). Reservations are required for seating in the back. Good ambience for studying and catching up.

There were so many social media influencers promoting their high tea set so decided to try. The start was already a problem because I couldn't get through the phone to make a reservation!! The phone number on Google said the phone is not in service, which was so annoying. Then I resorted to messaging them on Instagram directly and it took over several days to make one reservation. The high tea set is meant for 2 ppl so if you come with a odd number party be prepared to order an extra set to share. The soup infused with yuzu/citrus peel was so salty it was too overpowering. The hand rolls and onigiri were delicious. Some matcha items were a tad too sweet. Overall it's a one time try experience.

After entering the store, the clerk asked us to sit on the tatami inside. Then their manager came over with a very bad attitude and told my friend and I that we would not be allowed to sit here without a reservation. But we didn't know it when we went there for the first time, and the clerk took us there. . . I was beaten for no apparent reason and the experience was very bad...

I have come to this place many times over the years. It started off really great when it first opened. The food was delicious and service was good and lots of cake options. However, I feel that this place has gone downhill now. I came here on a weekday evening and all their cakes were already gone. I am not sure if they still have cakes available these days. I ordered a parfait instead. The parfait still looks pretty and IG worthy but I feel that with the price tag, there's lots of other dessert place in Richmond that offers better option.Parking: Free parking at the mall but it is hard to find a spot because of all the restaurant at this mall
