The sushi at Tsukiji, while decent, did not quite live up to the standards set by other Japanese sushi houses I've visited. The flavors were somewhat lacking in depth, and the freshness of the ingredients was not as pronounced as I had hoped. The selection was adequate, but it didn't offer the wow factor that I was looking for in a sushi dining experience. The service at Tsukiji was average, neither exceptionally good nor bad. The staff were polite and attentive, but there wasn't a sense of warmth or personalized attention that can elevate a dining experience from ordinary to special. The efficiency of the service was commendable, but it lacked the personal touch that can make a restaurant stand out.Overall, I would rate my experience at Tsukiji Japanese Restaurant as a 5 out of 10. While it provides a satisfactory dining experience, it doesn't quite hit the mark in terms of the exceptional food quality and service that I seek in a Japanese sushi restaurant. It's a decent option for a casual meal, but it may not satisfy those looking for an authentic and outstanding sushi experience.

Follow our locals friends here for a sumptuous dinner, the sashimi platter was excellent, ex crept for some icy maguro. Staff seemed to have forgotten little things along the way, though not a big deal but does create inconvenience.

Restaurant is mediocre in terms of skill and rolls, I found that the sushi rolls were below average. However, if you know what to order here, their specialty items are delicious. Including their aburi sushi, the foi gras, and the fatty tuna. Although those are always very high quality ingredients that are hard to mess up, but I definitely would come back here for those items. The appetizers are not bad, but not super special either. The atmosphere was nice, although I wished we could’ve sat in the floor seating, it’s a very interesting concept for design, very traditional and employees there will speak Chinese if you don’t know English. Would recommend overall.

good fish selection, less than ideal fish quality, especially for the price we paid.

This Japanese restaurant does a great job. In addition to the delicious food, the service is very good. ?The price is not cheap and it is worth the money.

This Japanese restaurant is one of my go-tos in Richmond for date night or more pricey dinners! Apparently they had a Japanese chef who used to work there and teach them everything but he passed away after teaching them everything - nonetheless everything tastes authentic and yummy. I love the seafood motoyaki ??? ? ? it’s soooo good. Also the quality of the sushi I get here is always great and their seasonal dishes are fun.I come for the vibes of the restaurant as well - it’s designed in a traditional Japanese way and is homey. If you can, sit in the booths by the walls!End off the meal with free ice cream :- )

I don't typically visit Richmond, but because I had an errand to do, and also happened to see the anniversary promo, I wanted to give Tsukiji a shot. The salmon jalepenõ & avocado roll, and the beef wagyu piece were scrumptious! I had the tuna maki as an in-house promo; they were good too. However, the uni and ikura (big roes) were not my cup of tea. The uni is so funky (strong weird fishy taste), and the ikura tastes salty—as if there's a high concentration of sea salt. What I liked about their special rolls menu is half of them does not consist of imitation crab meats as fillers, unlike plenty of other places.Additionally, the chilled yuza soda is very sweet and has a citrus hint. It was a fine drink to counteract some food spiciness.Lastly, the waitress offered an in-house ice cream—I chose black sesame. It was a wonderful ice cream, and its sweetness is about right. In conclusion, I liked most of my dinner. I may consider revisiting on another occasion.

Worst Japanese Restaurant in Richmond. I ordered seafood Udon pot(17.95 + tax). It is a pot of udon plus some vegetables (there was not a single piece of sea food in the pot ). I have wasted my money so you don't have to waste yours. There are plenty of good Restaurants in richmond. This one won't last long. Avoid...

Came here on a whim but had an excellent experience! I would suggest that you come earlier in the evening like 5 or 6. We came around 5:30pm and it was quite empty, but was busier by the time we left. The ambiance is nice, sushi roll was great and and udon and donburi section of menu is quite well priced. We also ordered the green tea and mango ice cream for dessert, then they said it was free when the bill arrived! Will definitely be returning.

This is one of the best Japanese restaurant in Richmond. Quality is always good. Service is superb and the atmosphere here feels very traditional Japanese.

Staff was pleasant and happily greeted us at the door. They assured us we could have a table despite arriving somewhat close to closing. The food was very fresh, and presentation excellent. We enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered and will definitely return. Thank you for the mango ice cream!

I came here with colleagues for dinner. It was great that we got a private tatami room. One of the colleagues knows the business owner here. They provided great services and servers always smiled and chatted with us.The food was great. The restaurant focuses on quality. We ordered many dishes and shared them like tapas. When we paid at the end of the meal, it was not expensive per person. We also had icecream at the end of the meal, so it was even better. I would like to come here again and try some other dishes in the future.I was lucky to find parking in the parking lot. I remember I had a hard time looking for parking last time.A small reminder for people to come here to eat - you need to provide your plate number to the restaurant at the reception, so your car can park at the parking lot for three hours max.
