NOT WORTH THE TRIP
The coffee is wonderful and we feel we lucked out finding this place by our hotel! My kids really enjoyed the hot chocolate too. Yummy lattes!! It’s a take out place, but they do have one outside table. Worked great for us with a dog.

This is my go to when I'm going for excellent, well balanced, and flavorful coffee. I've found Viva Java to be the best coffee I've tried. The aroma from the beans is beautiful and the flavour of the coffee is very well balanced. I normally just get an Americano and pick up a pound of beans. I've bought the 5 bean blend which was a game changer from many store bought brands. I've also bought the organic swiss water decaf which is actually just brewing right now. Excited to try.

A fun-looking coffee shop that has been there for a long time.
Coffee was interesting, like others said, if you get a milk alternative, it is steamed way too long.
My main problem (one of many) was the two shots I paid extra for wasn’t even added into my drink because there was too much milk.
The owner added half the espresso into the cup and called it a day; it tasted like burnt watery milk.
I would like to add that the owner can come off blunt but he seems to mean well. Proud of his coffee shop and the years that he has behind it.
I can completely imagine him ticking off customers- especially if you just want your coffee and to go.
For $8 and what I got, I wouldn’t come back.
The reviews are hilarious to read though

My lovely wife is the coffee drinker and self-labeled “connoisseur”. She’s tried many roasters and many coffees and of all she’s tried, she absolutely prefers Viva Java.
We’d heard stories about great coffee but not-so-great service yet still decided to try. She has not had an issue with the service. The owner knows his coffee, is passionate about his product and wants to ensure clients get the best taste out of it. As such, he has l, perhaps, come across to others, as rude. We’ve experienced no such behaviours.
If you want great coffee roasted and sold by someone who knows how to get the best out of their product, then try Viva Java.

By chance, I stopped by this sunny afternoon for a decaf iced coffee. Absolutely top notch. This place is a coffee destination, folks! I'll be back.

Viva Java is hands down the best coffee shop in Vancouver—even though it’s technically in Richmond, I gladly make the trip from Vancouver just for their beans. I’ve tried a good number of coffee spots around the city, but nothing compares to the quality and richness of their roast. The flavor is exceptional every time. Last time I came in to pick up some beans, the owner was generous and treated me to a delicious latte. Great coffee, great people. Highly recommend!

Bring cash or be ready to e-transfer!
Outdoor seating and currently under construction, so no restroom.
My husband and I bought iced mochas and we both stopped and cheer for how good it was! Little hint of cinnamon, not too sweet. Great!

Best iced mocha and coffee in the lower mainland. I drive all the way from Surrey/New West just to get this coffee.
Went to one of the best tasting coffee shops in Vancouver.
To support local.
Very disappointed in the quality and service.
DownHill is an understatement.
Coffee was good in its consistency.
The place and facilities are POOR.

I try to support local businesses and this is a great alternative to Starbucks which is in the same area. They are authentic roasters ( a couple) , and dare I say it, the coffee was better than what you get in most corporate chains. Go and get an espresso here! X
