We are regular visitors to Wasuta. We have never been disappointed. The fresh made pasta is special and the wide variety of choices should please everyone. On this occasion we ordered all three monthly specials and they were excellent. The service top notch with knowledge, friendly courteous staff. Very interesting concept of blending Italian pasta with Japanese twists. Dessert choices are wonderful Can't wait for our trip.

Itameshi, or Japanese-Italian fusion cuisine, is not that common, but it just makes sense on the plate. Wasuta Pasta delivers with its lighter take on pasta through delicate yet delectable flavours. We ordered the Scallop Uni Cream ($26), Black Garlic, Oyster Mushroom, Bacon with Onsen Tamago ($24), Crab Cream Croquette ($16), and Matcha Kinako Tiramisu ($11). A hefty bill for two people given the portion size, but we left satisfied with our experience overall. Both fettuccine dishes were cooked al dente, presented beautifully, and tasted delicious. I do wish the Scallop Uni Cream and Crab Cream Croquette had more uni and crab flavours, respectively, as they were more cream-forward. However, the scallops were plentiful and plump, and the croquettes were deep-fried well and complemented by the tomato sauce. My favourite dish of the night was the Matcha Kinako Tiramisu, which struck the right balance of a light cream and an airy sponge. The dusting of matcha and kinako powder added some earthy nuttiness. The five stars here largely hinges on the spectacular service we received. All the servers were so friendly and took the time to explain the menu and specials to us as it was our first time. The kitchen also accommodated our request for low sodium by reducing the salt in our Scallop Uni Cream and serving the Crab Cream Croquette with the sauce on the side. While Wasuta Pasta should not be missed, it can very easily be missed getting there because it is tucked away on the second floor of a strip mall and is not readily accessible by transit. Its discrete location probably reduces wait times as there isn't as much foot traffic as it deserves. There is ample parking and some nice views at sunset though.

Loved this Japanese Italian fusion restaurant in the middle of Richmond! Decent amount of seating inside but we did make reservations. We got the black garlic oyster mushroom, and bacon fettuccine alongside the smoked saba miso cream fettuccine. The black garlic fettuccine was not spicy at all. I enjoyed both these dishes quite a bit and it paired well with the two mocktails we got - guava sunset and yuzu ginger mocktail. Ending the meal with the matcha kinako tiramisu was the best treat and would highly recommend!

Our visit to Wasuta Pasta was an adventure in search of a hidden gem, but unfortunately, it turned out to be more of an exploration of GSM flavors rather than the gastronomic delight we had hoped for.Optimistic and intrigued by the menu offerings, we eagerly selected the Sakura Shrimo & Shirasu with Onsen Tamago Squid Ink Spaghetti and the Black Garlic Oyster Mushroom Bacon with Onsen Tamago, paired with a Coedo Yuzu Pale Ale to kick off our dining experience. Regrettably, our excitement was quickly dampened by the minuscule portion sizes that left us feeling unsatisfied and craving more substance.Hoping to salvage the meal, we placed our final order for the Mentaiko Carbonara, but it failed to redeem the dining experience. The dish lacked the expected richness and depth, falling short of the mark for a satisfying carbonara. An additional caution for patrons seated at the high top tables: beware of the baseboard heating beneath. In an unfortunate mishap, attempting to utilize the under-table hook resulted in some items melting due to the unexpected heat.Furthermore, it's worth noting that accessibility may pose a challenge for some patrons, as there is no elevator available on-site. This lack of accommodation could potentially deter individuals with mobility issues or those requiring assistance from fully enjoying their dining experience. In summary, Wasuta Pasta's concept may hold promise, but our visit left much to be desired. From the underwhelming portion sizes to the lackluster flavors, our thirst remained unquenched, the experience failed to live up to the expectations of a hidden gem. With improvements in portion sizes and flavor execution, Wasuta Pasta could potentially elevate itself to a true culinary treasure. However, until then, it remains a culinary venture best approached with caution.

We got the Crab Cream Croquette which tasted so perfect. The softness and crunch of the croquette was immaculate; plus the included sauce was yummy too 10/10. Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was alright- I’ve tasted better but it isn’t bad here 7.5/10.The Scallop Uni Cream was my favourite that was 10/10. The flavour of the Rigatoni Miso Bolognese wasn’t that good. The sauce was a bit watery and it just didn’t have a special flavourful taste to it 5/10. The Shimeji Wafu & Bacon was my family’s favourite. The texture of the noodles were pretty good and it wasn’t overpowering with flavours so it’s good if you prefer lighter tastes 8.5/10. Personally, the Pulled Pork Ragu was pretty similar to the Bolognese, but my brother really liked it 7/10.Dessert was my favourite part of this meal. We got the Matcha Kinako Tiramisu which came pretty fast. It was so delicious and soft, it wasn’t too sweet or heavy so it was so perfect. The matcha powder sprinkled on top had the perfect bitterness too. Toffee Pudding w/ Matcha Ice Cream was very good as well. It was sweeter than the Tiramisu which was no problem. The combination of the cold matcha ice cream and the warm toffee pudding was very very yummy. The wait time for the food was around 10 minutes or less which was pretty good, but I think it is because we also came at a later time (7 pm).

Oh my goodness the pasta was absolutely delicious! The flavour and combo is unlike what you can get from anywhere. I loved the smoked saba miso cream fettuccine so much. So beautifully arranged on the plate and carefully presented. The staff are also very very friendly.
